The ACC has been a strong conference to begin the year. At the same time, those two teams aren’t the reason why, one of them will be above .500 with a win.
The Eagles have won two straight against Virginia and Army. Both of those scores were 27-24 in favor of Boston College.
Meanwhile, Georgia Tech earned a massive 23-20 win over Miami. That’s a game that Georgia Tech had lost, but Miami fumbled the ball when they only had to kneel. Georgia Tech took advantage and defeated Miami with a touchdown in the game’s final seconds.
Neither team is a threat in the ACC. But a win in this game would help one of these teams potentially make a bowl game down the line.

The Boston College Eagles began the season with a 1-3 record. But after back-to-back wins and a bye week to recover, there’s newfound hope in Boston College.
The Atlantic Coast Conference has some outstanding teams and some really bad ones. Boston College would likely be considered in the middle of the ACC, giving them a legitimate opportunity to win three more games on the NCAAF schedule.
Even if the Eagles lose to Georgia Tech, they’d have chances to earn wins against UConn, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Pittsburgh.
UConn isn’t even in a conference. They’re beatable. Meanwhile, Syracuse has looked horrible over the last couple of weeks. Virginia Tech is also very beatable. Despite Pittsburgh’s win against Louisville, the Panthers haven’t played all that well either.
Boston College needs to win three more games. They’ve got plenty of paths.
Does Georgia Tech Have a New Life?
Georgia Tech should be 2-4. Instead, they’re 3-3 after a win against Miami as a 21-point underdog.
The Yellow Jackets played better than anyone expected in that game. But Miami had that game won and then lost it. Credit to the Yellow Jackets for capitalizing nonetheless.
The record looks totally different now. But will that add new life to Georgia Tech? Is there more motivation due to the momentum from that game against the Hurricanes?
North Carolina’s head coach, Mack Brown, was asked about this question before his game against Miami. He acknowledged that Georgia Tech deserves credit for that win.
After all, Georgia Tech got the ball but still had to score with little time remaining.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 4.5-point favorites against the Boston College Eagles. Meanwhile, the total is set at 57.5.
Boston College and Georgia Tech were both on byes last weekend. However, Boston College covered its most recent game against Army as a 2.5-point underdog. The Eagles won that game outright by thee. They’re now 2-4 against the spread but have hit the Over in six straight games this season.
The Eagles have also hit the Over in ten straight games since last season.
On the other hand, Georgia Tech is 3-3 against the spread. As massive underdogs against Miami, the Yellow Jackets earned a stunning 23-20 win. That was an easy cover. However, they’ve only covered three of six games this season.

The Georgia Tech defense doesn’t get much love. But after holding Miami to 20 points in their last game, the defense deserves more love.
Georgia Tech isn’t going to get many stops on the ground. But the secondary has held teams to 220 yards per game in the air. That’s not bad at all.
The pass rush has also been good enough to create havoc for the secondary. Even the run defense has been above average despite allowing 214.3 yards per game on the ground. They’re better than the stats suggest.
Meanwhile, Boston College’s offense is all about the run game. They’ve added only 200.5 yards per game in the air but have 192.7 yards on the ground. Thomas Castellanos leads the team in passing and rushing and is ultimately the entire team. He’s added 17 total touchdowns from passing and rushing and has earned over 1,600 total yards this season.
Castellanos is prone to making mistakes in the passing game. That will likely be a problem for him again versus Georgia Tech.
Haynes King’s Leadership
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets brought in an SEC-caliber quarterback in Haynes King. Although he was a transfer, he’s only a sophomore at Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have their guy for multiple years.
King has thrown 16 touchdowns and six interceptions throughout the season. The offense has added 431.2 yards per game, with over 275 yards in the air.
With Boston College allowing 372.7 yards per game on defense, there’s a good chance that the Yellow Jackets have serious success on offense. The Eagles don’t have a great secondary, and the pass rush hasn’t been playing at a high level.
You won’t see either of these teams at the top of the ACC NCAA football standings. However, the NCAAF scores and odds suggest that Georgia Tech is slightly better than Boston College.
