In a match of unbeatens, it’s Washington vs Michigan for the 2024 CFP Finals. NCAA bowl scores show Washington survived another close call after needing a last-second pass breakup against Texas to keep their undefeated season intact (37-31) after seemingly having this game in hand with a 9-point lead with 2:40 left. Michigan beat Alabama (27-20) in overtime after trailing 20-13 with less than five minutes left. The Wolverines are a 4.5-point favorite with a total of 56.5.

One More Nailbiter For Huskies?
The Washington Huskies were sailing right along through the first four weeks of the NCAAF season with three covers and push as a 33-point favorite against Tulsa (won 43-10).
Then came the Oregon Ducks who were the first to challenge the Huskies with a 4-point lead with under two minutes left before Michael Penix Jr threw an 18-yard strike to Rome Odunze to steal the win.
It was a warning as to what was to come as Washington struggled through wins against Arizona State (15-7), Stanford (42-33), USC (52-42), Utah (35-28), Oregon State (22-20), Washington State (24-21), and then again against Oregon in the Pac-12 Title game (34-31) before their playoff tilt with the Longhorns.
To break it down further, every game after their week four beatdown of the California Golden Bears (59-32) was a single-digit win except the game against USC which was tied at 42 heading into the fourth quarter.
The point is to show how resilient Kalen DeBoer’s team has been but the question is, will the final hurdle provide too big of a final obstacle? We continue our Washington vs Michigan CFP final analysis by turning our attention to the Wolverines.
Michigan vs Everybody
We’re all aware of the sign-stealing scandal that earned Head Coach Jim Harbaugh a seat on the bench for the rest of the team’s regular season. Harbaugh was allowed to be at practices and prepare his college football team as he normally would but games would eventually be coached by Jesse Minter, Jay Harbaugh, Mike Hart, and Sherrone Moore.
It’s the second time this season Harbaugh’s been suspended after serving a 3-game suspension for recruiting violations and misleading NCAA investigators. Through it all t-shirts were made saying ‘Michigan vs. Everybody’ and that’s exactly how they’ve played with eight covers in their last 10 NCAAF games.
Just twice in that span was the Wolverines tested against Ohio State (30-24) and last week against Alabama. Watching press conferences this week you get the sense that this battle to to sit on top of the final CFP rankings is as even as No. 1 vs No. 2. Huskies Win High-Octane Affair
Many of the NCAA bowl scores this year have been blowouts but the championship game will not disappoint. The Wolverines have been bet up to -4.5 despite the majority of the money backing the Huskies (73%).
This happens for various reasons, whether it’s respected money involved in the 27% or the house making an adjustment based on information or liability.
For as impressive as J.J. McCarthy has been behind center for the Wolverines no passing game has been more lethal than the Huskies with Penix.
The Huskies lead the nation with 257.3 yards per game and average 14.3 yards per completion. Washington also has a terrific offensive line and has a special teams advantage. We think the game with go over the total of 56.5 with the Huskies being in a position to win straight up (+165) but we’ll grab the points just in case.
