For the first time since 2018, Georgia Tech heads into the matchup with Georgia with a winning record as the Yellow Jackets will be heading to a bowl game for the first time since that 2018 NCAAF season. Georgia is once again in a position to compete for a national title. The Georgia vs Georgia Tech odds list the Bulldogs as heavy favorites once again.

Georgia is looking for its sixth straight win over Georgia Tech with the average margin of victory in those previous five games being 33.6 points.

Georgia is going after its 39th consecutive regular season win with 33 of those wins coming by at least 10 points.

The college football spread has Georgia as a 24.5-point favorite. This is the sixth consecutive meeting that Georgia is a double-digit favorite against Georgia Tech.

Receivers Ladd McConkey (26 catches), C.J. Smith (19.3 yards per catch) and Rara Thomas (23 catches) as all questionable for Georgia while linebackers E.J. Lightsey and Jamon Dumas-Johnson are out.

For Georgia Tech, running back Jamie Felix is out.

When looking at the college football standings, Georgia has already clinched the SEC East Division with Georgia Tech fourth in the ACC standings.

Georgia remains first in the College Football Playoff Rankings while the Bulldogs received 122 of 125 first-place votes to sit at No. 1 in both national polls.

Bulldogs Look to Do It Again

What a run Kirby Smart has this Georgia program on. Even with multiple players being taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, Georgia is in a position to compete for its third straight national title.

The defense might not be as feared as the units from 2021 and 2022, but it still is fifth nationally in scoring defense. Keep that in mind when looking at the Georgia vs Georgia Tech odds.

Even with two-time national championship-winning quarterback Stetson Bennett now with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, Georgia’s total offense numbers are almost identical to last year’s totals.

Despite spending three seasons in the SEC with the Aggies. this will be his first game against Georgia.

Georgia Tech led until the midway point of the second period as the 36.5-point underdogs were looking to win against Georgia for the first time since 2016.

Bennett threw a pair of touchdown passes with Kenny McIntosh and Kendall Milton had scoring runs as Georgia scored 34 straight points on the way to the 37-14 win. The Yellow Jackets did cover in the game after Georgia covered against the college football betting lines in the previous four NCAAF matchups.

The game went over the 49-point total on a Malachi Carter touchdown catch for Georgia Tech with 2:55 left to play.

The total has gone over in Georgia Tech’s last five games. The total is set at 59.5 points. It is the highest total of a Georgia Tech-Georgia game in Atlanta dating back to 1999.

The Bulldogs have won 14 straight road games and have covered in 14 straight road games against Georgia Tech.

Georgia is 4-6-1 against the spread this season with the Bulldogs being favored in each game. Georgia is 0-7-1 against the spread in its last eight games when favored by at least 20 points. Georgia Tech has covered in four of its last five games as a 20-point underdog. The Yellow Jackets are 5-2 against the spread this season when listed as the underdog and covered in the only previous game as the underdog at home.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-50s at kickoff time with dry conditions so weather shouldn’t have an impact on the outcome of the game.

Georgia Tech has made some strides this season but asking the Yellow Jackets to take down the Bulldogs might be a little too much. It won’t be a surprise to see the Yellow Jackets cover in the game.
