Oilers Making The Canucks Uncomfortable

The Vancouver Canucks have led the Pacific Division for most of the season. But the first column in the NHL standings has them shaking in their boots.

We’re not referring to the wins column where Vancouver owns one more than Edmonton, which is the first tiebreaker. But it’s the games played that have many thinking that the Canucks will lose their grip on the division lead.

Vancouver was worked over against the Vegas Golden Knights, 6-3. It failed to extend their lead over the Oilers who trail Vancouver by five points with two games in hand. Our latest NHL power rankings show Edmonton fourth overall and second in the Western Conference behind the Colorado Avalanche.

After losing in overtime to the St. Louis Blues (3-2), we expect the Oilers to continue their march to the top of the Pacific Divison. Tonight may have one of the more entertaining NHL scores.

Dallas Look To Send Message

The Dallas Stars are starting to peak their head in front of the Central Division after a 3-0 win against the Seattle Kraken. The Stars lead the Colorado Avalanche by three points with seven games left for each club. The Stars have won seven straight games but are still behind the Edmonton Oilers in our NHL power rankings.

With a win tonight, we expect to see Dallas move ahead. If they add another win to their streak it would be the first time in their history that they’ve won eight straight hockey games.

In net, Jake Oettinger (30-13-4, 2.87, .900) is expected to get the start against Stuart Skinner (33-14-5, 2.63, .906), Oettinger is coming off a 17-save shutout of the Kraken, his fifth straight win. In all five games, the former Team USA goaltender allowed two goals or fewer.

Skinner has just one regulation loss since February 24th (8-1-3). The Stars’ current Stanley Cup odds are 10-1 (6th choice) while the Oilers are just a little better at 8-1(3rd choice). Let’s wind down our Oilers vs Stars preview with our official selection.

Time To Get Crazy

We may have confidence in ourselves after predicting the Vegas Golden Knights on the puck line with the over last night. So we’re coming back with two more NHL picks tonight!

We’ve already revealed that this should be a high-scoring affair (over 6.5 -110), but along with that, we’re taking the juice (-105) with the Edmonton Oilers. We suggest getting on this wager now because early numbers indicate that the public will be on Edmonton with 71% of the early monitored wagers.

As an underdog, Edmonton is 4-3 (+1.05 units) adding to their 17-11 mark over the last two NHL seasons. The Oilers are more than comfortable being road underdog with a 14-9 record (+7.44 units) dating back to last season. All the best with your NHL picks and parlays tonight.
