Milan vs Atalanta Head-to-Head

Back in November, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez got on the scoresheet as Inter defeated Atalanta 2-1 in Bergamo. Inter Milan vs Atalanta previews note that Inter are unbeaten in the last 10 Serie A meetings, with a 5-5-0 record during that time. La Dea haven’t defeated Inter at the San Siro since 2014.

Inter Perfect in 2024

It didn’t take long for Inter Milan to get on the scoresheet at Lecce on Sunday. Lautaro Martinez scored his 100th Serie A goal with his 15th minute finish to put the Nerazzurri up 1-0. Inter came out firing in the second half, as Davide Frattesi scored a goal and provided an assist for Martinez’s second and Stefan de Vrij scored on a header. The Nerazzurri won 4-0 and it was their seventh straight victory in Serie A. Simone Inzaghi’s side have won their first 10 matches of 2024.

Inter have gained an absurd 66 points through 25 matches and they also defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of last week’s Champions League round of 16. Marcus Thuram came off injured, with an achilles issue and his replacement Marko Arnautovic managed to score the winning goal. Inter are well positioned to make the Quarter-final and the Serie A betting odds also price them as -15000 favorites to win the Scudetto.

Inter Milan’s defense and goalkeeper Yann Sommer have been nothing short of incredible this season. They’ve conceded just 12 goals in 25 Serie A matches and have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight games overall. Defenders Francesco Acerbi and Juan Cuadrado are currently out injured. Meanwhile, Thuram could miss a few more weeks with his Achilles issue.

Atalanta Improvement Clear to See

Atalanta ended the weekend in fifth place in the Serie A table but can enter the top four with a victory over Inter Milan on Wednesday. This will be Atalanta’s second straight match at the San Siro, as they drew 1-1 at AC Milan on Sunday.

Rafael Leao scored a brilliant curled shot in the third minute for Milan, which meant Atalanta had to play catchup. La Dea equalized on a late first half penalty that Teun Koopmeiners converted and they managed to keep Milan at bay. Marco Carnesecchi was instrumental in the Atalanta draw, as the keeper made some big stops.

The draw ended a five game Serie A winning streak for Atalanta but La Dea still haven’t lost in 2024. Plus, Atalanta BC have a clean bill of health as Ademola Lookman and Isak Hien returned to action on Sunday. Lookman has scored seven goals and provided three goals in Serie A this season and Sunday was his first Atalanta appearance for nearly two months.

Before the Milan match, Atalanta had scored at least two goals in their last six games overall. They’ve been all action as of late and Charles de Ketelaere has emerged as one of their key players. With just three goals conceded in their last six matches, Atalanta have also stepped up defensively as of late. Gian Pier Gasperini’s side should absolutely challenge for a Champions League place as we enter the final weeks of the season.

Milan vs Atalanta Match Analysis & Odds

As Inter Milan go for their 11th straight win, in all competitions, they come into this match as -165 favorites. Inter Milan vs Atalanta previews note that the Nerazzurri haven’t lost in Serie A since September.

Inter keep on winning but it may hurt them not having Thuram in this one, as he’s scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in the league. Martinez does lead Serie A in goals, though, and he’s on his way to winning the Capocannoniere.

Atalanta show +450 odds to win Wednesday’s match and they’re still unbeaten in 2024. La Dea have scored twice in three of their last six matches vs Inter and their biggest concern on Wednesday will be containing an explosive Inter offense. Inter Milan have scored four goals in each of their last three Serie A games. Here, over 2.5 goals come in at -135 odds.

Bettors can also back a draw at +300 odds and that wouldn’t at all be a bad result for Atalanta. Inter have won each of their last three Serie A matches by a multi-goal margin as well. Inter -0.5, -1 sits at -120 odds as Martinez looks to get on the scoresheet for the 23rd time this season. Atalanta +0.5, +1 is priced at even odds but it won’t be easy to stop Inter Milan’s momentum.
