Japanese Star Tops Fulton vs Inoue Betting Odds

WBC and WBO Bantamweight Title Fight

Fulton vs Inoue betting odds have Japanese star Naoya Inoue favored to beat his American counterpart.

In terms of boxing matches, it doesn’t get much bigger than Fulton vs Inoue, who compete for the WBC and WBO bantamweight titles on Saturday.

The boxing schedule 2023 is packed with great fights and it promises to deliver.

Fulton Grinding Away

It’s rare to see an American boxer have an unbeaten 21-0 record and have only eight wins by knockout.

The fighter from Philadelphia doesn’t have explosive power, but he knows how to win fights, and he’s the champion for a reason.

He showed his class when beating Brandon Figueroa and Daniel Roman, who are quality fighters in their own right. So, despite what boxing betting markets suggest, Fulton is the real deal.

He’s currently the +250 underdog with Fulton vs Inoue betting odds, but there has been some respect for him, despite fighting in Japan, which is a tough environment.

Fulton believes he’s ready to take whatever Inoue throws at him.

“He’s very talented, skilful, he’s more known for his power than anything but he’s very skilful,” Fulton said of Inoue.

“From what I see he’s a smart fighter, but I feel like no-one was really in the ring with him to challenge those mental skills yet.”

Winning some rounds shouldn’t be a problem for Fulton. He has a good work rate, and if Inoue can’t land the knockout blow, that could give the advantage to Fulton.

He won his last fight against Roman 120-108, 120-108, 119-109, so it wasn’t close on the judges’ scorecards. A repeat of that performance could be enough to see him hold onto his titles.

The Pride of Japan

We love watching Inoue fight. He’s a great star of the sport, and with a 24-0 record (21 wins by knockout), he demands respect.

The 30-year-old knocked out Paul Butler last December to win his titles, and that should send a message to Fulton. Inoue has much more knockout power, and he’ll look to use it early.

He also knocked out Nonito Donaire last year in the second round. Donaire is a 42-6 fighter, so he put away a legend with ease.

“I have absolutely nothing to be anxious about,” Inoue said. “As the challenger for the first time in a while, I’m as fired up as I’ve ever been.”

We don’t see many weaknesses in his fighting. He is the -350 favorite with Fulton vs Inoue betting odds, and we think those odds are generous.

Bookmakers could have priced him around -500, and he would have still attracted solid betting attention. We expect money to come for the favorite throughout the week, and we expect his hand to be raised after the fight.

Fulton deserves respect, but the American could suffer his first career loss in front of a sold out crowd at Ariake Arena.
