2024 WWE Royal Rumble Odds Preview
CM Punk -200 Favorite to Win Royal Rumble; Cody Rhodes +150Â
The 37th annual Royal Rumble event is Sunday from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The First event was held in 1988 when Jim Duggan won at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The Royal Rumble has progressed from a 19,000 seat arena to what will be over 50,000. Last year, Cody Rhodes won as the 30th entry while Rhea Ripley won from the first position on the ladies’ side. As betting on the WWE becomes for popular, let us look at each set of 2024 WWE Royal Rumble odds to see what is worth placing a few dollars down to enhance one of the WWE’s top pay-per-views of the year.
2024 Mens Royal Rumble Winner
What an impact CM Punk has made on the WWE since his return last November after a 9-year absence. The WWE is white-hot right now and they just keep adding talent and compelling storylines that aren’t close to being matched in the industry.
Despite his persona that has been known to work with no matter what promotion Punk has been part of, the WWE’s ability to never sever relationships or shut the door completely on talent has been to their benefit over the years. This will be Punk’s biggest stage since his return and he’s a -300 favorite to win the Royal Rumble after opening at -200.
Next to Punk is Cody Rhodes at +150 followed by Gunther at +300. This is very interesting considering their face-to-face confrontation on Monday Night Raw last week. Why this is so significant because these are arguably the two biggest stars that ran back to the WWE after a run in AEW.
The WWE isn’t a company that will publicly talk trash about another promotion, and why would they when you’re king, but they’re not above subtle jabs and this may be closer to a jab to the ribs. When betting on the WWE you have to realize a few things things.
First, realize this is for fun, which may be one and two. Second, you have to wager on what will get the biggest pop or inspire a big storyline. Third, the WWE has been incredible at putting layers on top of a one-on-one match-up, something they masterfully did with the Bloodline.
Finally, they are good at promotion and by having Punk and Rhodes go face-to-face this week, we can’t see them going away from a match-up that would check every box we just listed. Our pick to win is Cody Rhodes at +150.
You can’t end a promo telling Rhodes that Punk is more of the American dream than Cody as Punk did last week on RAW without the biggest pop of them all…payback.
On a side note in the WWE rumor mill, Drew McIntyre (+700) and Finn Balor (+1500) are both in the middle of a contract negotiation that expires after Wrestlemania. In case you want to put a long-shot wager on one of them, don’t think for a second the WWE is going to make either a Rumble winner until a new contract, if at all, is signed.
2024 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner
Bayley is a -150 favorite to win the women’s Royal Rumble match. We don’t understand why she is the favorite after being slammed by Nia Jax last week after interrupting a promo between Jax and Becky Lynch. This side of the rumble is a little more difficult to predict because we can’t see a clear compelling storyline forming.
It’s being set up like Jax and Lynch will be the final two in the ring as the end but neither are on the promotional mat for the event. We’re going to guess it’s someone deeper down the list of odds. We know the WWE is a business and their video game business is important.
This year’s cover of WWE 2K24 will feature Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and our pick to win the Women’s Royal Rumble, Biana Belair (+700). The seven-year WWE veteran has not held the title since May 27th, 2023 after a reign of one minute and 35 seconds. Of course, she also held it for 420 days in her prior title reign showing that the WWE likes her with the title like they do Charlotte Flair.
She was planning on taking a couple of months off which is why the promotion had Iyo Sky cash in her Money In the Bank briefcase on Belair at Night of Champions. Then there was the build-up at Crown Jewel when Sky defeated Belair for the title after interference by Damage CTRL member Kairi Sane. We think this is where Belair wins her third women’s Championship and cashes a nice plus-money ticket.
Undisputed Universal Championship
Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight
It’s no surprise that Reigns is a massive favorite here (-2500). With Roman holding gold since August of 2020, there is no way they’re going to have Reigns lose anywhere but at a Wrestlemania and they’re certainly not going to have him hand his title to any of the competitors in this match, that would be bad for business.
The idea is to pass the torch to someone who conjures up interest on the entertainment news shows and although each wrestler involved is top-notch, it doesn’t make sense for Reigns to lose the title now.
Of all the predictions, this we’re the most sure of because if the WWE news that the Rock and Reigns will face each other at Wrestlemania is true, there’s no way the title is leaving the hands of the former Shield member.
United States Championship: Kevin Owens vs Logan Paul
The WWE wants Logan Paul and his 27 million Instagram followers to be front and center so there’s no way it’s good for business to lose a title he won at Crown Jewel in November from Rey Mysterio.
Unfortunately for bettors, Paul is a silly -2000 favorite over Kevin Owens. Put $10 on Owens if you’d like but he;s not winning this match. That does it for our 2024 WWE Royal Rumble odds preview, we wish you all the best with your wagers this weekend.
