Cody Rhodes To Finish His Story in Wrestlemania XL

Unless We See a Big Upset on the Wrestlemania 40 Betting Odds?

Can you bet on the WWE? You can this weekend when one of the most talked about Wrestlemanias takes place on Saturday and Sunday from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

There are eight matches available on the Wrestlemania 40 betting odds. Each features wide favorites. This will be the first Wrestlemania in Philly since 1999. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin scored a pinfall over The Rock in a No- Disqualification match for the WWF Championship.

Over 200,000 people from 50 states and 50 countries are expected for the extravaganza, which is expected to bring over 215 million to the local economy. Over 90,000 tickets were sold within the first day, making it the fastest-selling ‘Mania in its history.

The shows start at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT each day and can be seen on Peacock. We don’t know if WWE betting will ever be mainstream. But we have the Wrestlemania 40 betting odds on our top matches to break down.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (+250) vs Cody Rhodes (-400) – Apr. 7, Sun

In what is by far the most interesting odds on the board, the champion Roman Reigns is not only an underdog, but he’s a +250 dog to the challenger Cody Rhodes.

There is so much to unpack here. We could start with last year’s Wrestlemania when Rhodes came close to knocking off the long-time champion. It could also start with the press conference on Super Bowl Weekend when it was clear that the WWE wanted Reigns to face The Rock for the title.

But the fans objected loudly because they felt Rhodes had been snubbed. Chief Content Officer (CCO) Triple H pivoted to making The Rock a heel, which we enjoyed watching live. ‘The American Nightmare’ says he wants to finish his story against Reigns while the longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion says that Rhodes is reading from the wrong book.

Before Sunday, Rhodes will join forces with Seth Rollins to take on Reigns and The Rock in a tag team match as the main event of Saturday. The outcome will determine whether “‘Bloodline’ Rules’ will be in effect for Sunday’s clash. With Reigns/Rock favored at -450, the -400 price on Rhodes for Sunday is even more head-scratching.

But this is also WWE. Always assume the most chaotic outcome will happen. Anticipate Reigns and The Rock winning, paving the way for interference from The Bloodline on Sunday. However, that does not prevent Rhodes from bringing in his “backup.”

We think something is up in this match and it doesn’t have anything to do with Rhodes. This moment is too big for a clean pinfall.

Assuming this will have Bloodline Rules, we see Reigns beating Rhodes in a brutal match. But also look for  Judgment Day to intervene with Damian Priest cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase to become the new champion.

The WWE loves Priest and his willingness to be a team player. This would give Reigns time off without losing the belt cleanly, which preserves his legacy in a defeat. As far as The Rock is concerned, his weekly run on WWE programming will end as he starts filming his next movie, The Smashing Machine right after Mania

Singles Match: Jey Uso (-300) vs Jimmy Uso (+200) – Apr. 6, Sat

This match is a long time coming and should be one of the most entertaining. Consider that the twin brothers have trained for this their whole lives. The layers of what could happen this weekend run deep with Jimmy’s alliance with The Bloodline intact on Smackdown and with Jey’s closest ally Cody Rhodes on RAW.

You can read between the lines there. The reality is, that both performers deserve this stage after breaking into the industry 17 years ago. They were always a fan favorite but this is the biggest they’ve been because of their ability and their ties to The Bloodline.

What’s best for the story is for Jimmy to win. This gives the WWE a chance to fix the shattered pieces that we predict for the Bloodline.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (-400) vs Sami Zayn (+250) – Apr. 6, Sat

The WWE likes Gunther and wants their champions to have long title runs. But it also does not know how to take his character to the next level. The matchup with Sami Zayn hasn’t had the build-up it should have, although both superstars are excellent in-ring performers.

This is a clash of two wrestlers trying to find their way. There has been some talk that Gunther wants some time off. But we don’t think putting the belt on Zane is what’s best for business right now.

WWE United States Championship Match: Logan Paul (-450) vs Kevin Owens (+400) vs Randy Orton (+425) – Apr. 7, Sun

If we could ever bet on pro wrestling consistently, matches like this would be the most fun to watch. Logan Paul is a wide favorite to retain. When trying to find betting angles you only have to ask yourself what is best for the WWE.

Social media megastar Logan Paul should retain the belt despite all of us knowing that both Owens and Orton are the bigger names within the industry. With the WWE going corporate, this is about money and exposure. So until Paul says, “I’ve had enough”, you can bet the WWE will not let his almost 57 million subscribers down.

WWE Women’s World Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (-500) vs Becky Lynch (+300) – Apr. 6, Sat

As wonderful as Becky Lynch is, Rhea Ripley will not lose her title because Lynch is not at Ripley’s level. There have been so many storyline disputes about who was responsible for the women’s revolution.

Still, without getting on the mic each week and reading off her resume’, Ripley has done more for the women’s division than almost anyone since the late Chyna because she possesses the “it” factor.

That does it for our Wrestlemania 40 betting odds preview. There are not many, if any, real betting options so perhaps take a small amount of money and scatter it on the longshots while having fun watching this incredible event.
