SAG Awards Odds are Out
The SAG Awards (Screen Actors Guild) are on this week where all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood comes out to celebrate.
Having already had the Golden Globes, there are some short favorites in most of the major categories, so we have picked out the best value bets.
They could upset the apple cart and provide bettors with big odds.
Giamatti to Upset Murphy
Paul Giamatti is one of the more beloved actors in Hollywood, and he finally gets a leading role where he can shine.
He often plays the supporting role, and because of that, we think the SAG will award him with best actor for his role in The Holdovers.
Most expect Cillian Murphy to win for his role in Oppenheimer, but his odds have drifted considerably for both the SAG and the Academy Awards.
Giamatti is picking up steam at +115, and he could topple -155 favorite Murphy to win the best actor award.

They Love Stone
The SAG loves Emma Stone, as does the Academy and the Hollywood Foreign Press.
Hollywood’s girl next door is always well-backed to win best actress, and she was good in Poor Things, which was a latecomer to the awards season.
Current favorite Lily Gladstone was equally as impressive in Killers of the Flower Moon, and she’s the -250 favorite to win. However, Stone is no stranger to winning awards, and we think it’s hers for the taking.
The latest entertainment news is that she’s firming for the Academy Award, and that could have an impact on this betting market.
We’re happy to take the +130 for Stone.
Gosling vs Downey Jr
Robert Downey Jr is the -700 favorite to win best supporting actor, but don’t overlook the underdog value of Ryan Gosling at +500.
Gosling is another Hollywood favorite, and although it’s hard to see Barbie winning many awards, he played the character of Ken well.
Downey Jr was also brilliant in Oppenheimer, but he had a more dramatic script to work with. We thought the script was better than his acting.
Gosling is a better bet at +500 to win the SAG Award, especially compared to the skinny odds Downey Jr.
Ramsey Eyes Drama Award. Bella Ramsey is only 20 years old, but we think that works in her favor come award season.
The Last of Us actress is a +600 underdog to win outstanding actress in a drama series behind Sarah Snook (Succession), but when a young actress wins, it always makes headlines.
There needs to be some type of upset to make the awards night memorable, and Ramsey winning the TV award could be a memorable moment.
The youngest SAG award winner was 22-year-old America Ferrera for her role in Ugly Betty. No actress since, which was 16 years ago, has won.
We thought Ramsey was outstanding in The Last of Us, and her role was more difficult to play than Snook’s in Succession.

Sudeikis Returns with Ted Lasso
It wasn’t long ago when Ted Lasso was winning every award possible, but The Bear looks to steal its thunder.
However, lead actor Jason Sudeikis is right in the mix to win outstanding comedy actor, and we think the sportsbook has the market wrong.
Jeremy Allen White is all the rage at the moment, appearing in The Bear, and also appearing in various movies. However, we don’t think he deserves to be the -600 favorite, and we don’t necessarily rate him as a comedic actor.
We are much happier taking +900 for Sudeikis to win another award for his role as title character, and we can’t overlook the sports reference.
