On Monday, a nine-man Tottenham lost for the first time in the 2023-24 Premier League season. Spurs were the last remaining unbeaten team in the league but fell 4-1 to Chelsea at home. On Saturday, second-placed Tottenham will head to the Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ahead of Saturday’s match, let’s preview the Wolves vs Tottenham odds.

WOL Wolves vs Tottenham TOT

Day/Time: Location: Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton, England

Head-to-Head:

Recent matches between Wolves and Tottenham have been some of the most competitive EPL games today. These teams split their meetings last season as the home team won both matches 1-0. Over the last seven Premier League meetings, both teams have three wins and have drawn once. None of the last five Wolves vs Tottenham EPL matches have finished with more than two goals.

Wolves Lose to Late Penalty

Heading into Matchday 11 of the 2023-24 Premier League season, Wolverhampton Wanderers were on a five-game unbeaten run. That included a win over Manchester City and draws vs. Aston Villa and Newcastle. Wolves fell behind at previously winless Sheffield United last Saturday, as the Blades’ Cameron Archer struck the crossbar and the ball went into the net.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde equalized for the Wolves with his first goal for the club. The match looked destined for a draw but Wolves conceded a penalty right at the death. SUFC’s Oli Norwood stepped up and converted to end the Wolves’ unbeaten run and give the Blades their first win of the season. It’s perhaps no coincidence that Wolves’ loss coincided with Pedro Neto’s injury absence.

Neto, a winger, had three assists in his last three matches before going down with a hamstring injury. He will most likely be out until after the international break and is the EPL leader in assists, with seven. Neto to provide an assist has been one of the more popular soccer player props this season but he’s out this weekend. Wolves will likely rely on Hwang Hee-chan for scoring and the South Korean has six goals so far this season. With Neto out, the Wolves vs Tottenham odds price the hosts as +215 underdogs.

Tottenham Put Up Fight With Nine Men

Tottenham got off to an excellent start in their match vs. Chelsea on Monday, as Dejan Kulusevski opened up the scoring for the hosts. Things quickly went downhill from there as Cristian Romero received a red card for a challenge inside the box. Cole Palmer stepped up to take the ensuing penalty and equalized the score.

In the second half, Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie picked up his second yellow card. So, Tottenham were down to nine men for the last 35 minutes of the match. The floodgates opened in the 75th minute when Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson scored his first of three goals. He added two more in stoppage time as Spurs fell 4-1.

It was Spurs’ first Premier League loss of the season and they were the last remaining unbeaten team in the league. They put up a decent fight with just nine players and are very much still in the title race. The current Premier League odds price Tottenham at just +1200 to win the league, though. Ange Postecoglou has done an excellent job with this close-knit Spurs team. Son Heung-min and James Maddison have been the standout performers for Tottenham so far. Unfortunately, Maddison came off injured vs. Chelsea, along with Micky van de Ven, who figures to be out for a while.

Match Analysis & Odds

Before taking a look at the Wolves vs Tottenham odds, we should note that both teams have scored in each of Wolves’ last eight Premier League games. Tottenham have also scored in every match they’ve played this season and Son leads the way with eight goals. Udogie and Romero are suspended for this match but visitors Spurs are still +120 favorites.

Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, and Ryan Sessegnon are also out injured for Tottenham, while Ben Davies is doubtful. Hugo Lloris is also injured but Guglielmo Vicario has made the goalkeeping position his own. The Italian stopper has been one of the best keepers in the Premier League so far. Although Spurs have some defenders out, Wolves may not be able to fully capitalize with Neto out as well.

Wolves are +215 underdogs for this one, while a draw comes in at +260. Bettors can take both Wolves pk, +0.5, and Tottenham pk, -0.5 at -110 odds. It’ll be interesting to see how Tottenham respond to Monday’s disappointing result. As long as they have 11 players on the pitch they’re certainly capable of winning. Note that under three goals for the match are also priced at -120 odds for this one.
