Tottenham vs Brighton Odds & Preview

Exciting EPL Sides Face Off

Spurs Two Points Outside of Top Four

On Saturday, two of the Premier League’s most high-octane offenses will face off when Tottenham host Brighton. Spurs enter the weekend two points outside of the top four and they’re trying to play catch up on Aston Villa at the moment. Brighton, in eighth place, are just outside of the European places and three points would serve them well here. Bettors should expect this to be one of the most exciting matches of the weekend. Ahead of Saturday’s showdown, we’ll take a closer look at the Tottenham vs Brighton odds.

Head-to-Head

This is the second match on the English Premier League schedule this season between Tottenham and Brighton. In December, at the AMEX Stadium, Brighton picked up a 4-2 win over Spurs. The pregame Tottenham vs Brighton odds priced the Seagulls as +150 favorites for the match. Spurs have won four of the last six meetings overall.

Richarlison Stepping up for Tottenham

Richarlison scored twice in Tottenham’s match at Everton last Saturday. The Brazilian international’s goals weren’t enough for Spurs to come away with all three points, as the match finished 2-2. Both of the goals Tottenham conceded were on scrambles in the box and Guglielmo Vicario had a tough time in the Spurs net. Regardless, Spurs are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games.

James Maddison has started Spurs’ last two matches after being out since November with an injury. The attacking midfielder is instrumental to Tottenham and he’s provided six assists in 13 games so far. Son Heung-min has been away at the AFC Asian Cup since the beginning of January but he could be available on Saturday after South Korea’s Semifinal loss to Jordan on Tuesday. Richarlison has played excellently in Son’s absence and he’s found the net five times in Spurs’ last four EPL matches. Betting on the Brazilian to score has been a great recent pick in soccer parlays but he could receive reduced minutes with Son back.

Timo Werner has also played well down the left flank since joining on loan from RB Leipzig. While he’s yet to score his first Premier League goal for Tottenham, he has been instrumental in creating some goals for Spurs. Defense has been an issue for Tottenham in recent weeks, as they’ve conceded twice in each of their last three Premier League matches. Currently, just Ryan Sessegnon, Gio Lo Celso and Manor Solomon are on Tottenham’s injury list.

Brighton Bounce Back from Luton Loss

Following a disappointing 4-0 loss at Luton Town, Brighton bounced back with a bang. The Seagulls took down Crystal Palace 4-1 last Saturday as teenagers Jack Hinshelwood and Facundo Buonanotte both got on the scoresheet. Lewis Dunk opened up the scoring early on with a header and Hinshelwood and Buonanotte’s goals came before halftime. Brighton continued to dominate the match but Palace got a consolation goal back and Joao Pedro responded with a strike of his own.

With the win, Brighton moved up to eighth place in the English Premier League standings. Roberto De Zerbi’s side are only three points behind sixth-placed Manchester United. While Brighton are unbeaten in their last 10 home EPL matches, they’re just 3-3-5 away this season. In fact, they haven’t won any of their last five road matches in the Premier League.

Still, Brighton do pose an attacking threat and they tend to play an uncompromising attacking style. Sometimes they leave themselves exposed defensively but it does work out more often than not for the Seagulls. With Kaoru Mitoma returning from the AFC Asian Cup, Brighton will get a further offensive boost. However, Simon Adingra is still with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations. Meanwhile, Joel Veltman, Julio Enciso and Solly March are injured.

Match Analysis & Odds

Tottenham enter Saturday’s match as -115 favorites and they have won each of their last four EPL home games. Both teams have also scored in each of Tottenham’s last six Premier League home matches. The Tottenham vs Brighton odds also list under 3.5 goals at -120 odds. Tottenham’s last Premier League loss was to Brighton in December and expect Spurs to put in a better performance here.

Brighton have struggled on the road this season and have only kept one EPL shutout away from home so far. Brighton are +270 underdogs for this one but they won at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as recently as 2022. While Spurs -0.5 sits at -115, Brighton +0.5 comes in at -105.

None of the last 12 games between these teams have finished in draws. Here, a deadlock is priced at +320 odds. Getting Son back should be a boost for Spurs and bettors should stay tuned for any status updates as the week goes on.
