Playoff Format
Forty teams will be split into four groups of ten at the ALGS 2023 Split 2 playoffs and play a six-game series for a total of 18 games for every team. After the Group Stage, the twenty highest-scoring teams will go to the winner’s bracket, and the lowest twenty will go to the loser’s bracket.
The next stage of the tournament will be bracket play. The winner’s bracket will play a 6-game series, and the loser’s bracket will play two 6-game series.
The top ten teams from the winner brackets will advance to the finals, while the remaining teams will drop to the losers bracket round 2 to play against the top 10 teams from the losers bracket round 1. The top ten teams from the loser’s bracket round 2 will advance to the finals.
In the finals, the twenty remaining teams will play with no match limit until someone wins using the match point format. The remaining teams will be placed based on how many points they’ve earned.
Tournament Schedule
The ALGS 2023 Split 2 playoffs will be the first Apex Legends LAN event to have every esports game on the main stage. That means every moment is being broadcast on the mainstream, with command center POVs every step of the way. As a result, there is a slightly longer schedule with only one set of matches at once.
- Thursday, July 13 – Group Stage
- Friday, July 14 – Group Stage
- Saturday, July 15 – Bracket Stage
- Sunday, July 16 – Finals
All three days will feature three blocks of matches. The finals will again be in match point format, meaning action could run late into the night.
