FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16: Colombia vs. Jamaica Odds

Jamaica in First Knockout Stage

Winner to Become First-Time Quarterfinalist

Neither Colombia nor Jamaica were one of the two highest-ranked teams in their respective groups. They both managed to defy expectations to advance to the knockout stage. Colombia, despite losing their group stage closer to Morocco, finished first place in Group H. Meanwhile, Jamaica picked up a gutsy draw vs. Brazil that saw the Reggae Girlz through to the last 16 for the first time. We’ll preview the Colombia vs. Jamaica odds in a match that will produce a first-time quarterfinalist.

FIFA Women’s World Cup

Colombia vs. Jamaica

Date, time:

Head-to-Head

This is the first chance to bet on Colombia vs. Jamaica odds at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. These teams have only met twice in their histories, and they’ve split their matches. In 2019, Colombia defeated Jamaica 2-0 and Jamaica picked up a 2-1 win a year earlier.

Colombia Win Group H Despite Loss

    • FIFA Women’s World Ranking: 25
    • Group Stage Matches: 2-0 W vs. South Korea, 2-1 W vs. Germany, 0-1 L vs. Morocco
    • Standings: 2-1, 1st Group H

Colombia managed to pull off two upsets to kick off their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign. First, they defeated South Korea 2-0 with goals from Catalina Usme and Linda Caicedo. Caicedo once again came through as Colombia pulled off one of the most shocking FIFA World Cup results. Colombia defeated second-ranked Germany 2-1 as Caicedo and Manuela Vanegas got on the scoresheet.

That put Colombia in an excellent position heading into the last group match on their Women’s World Cup schedule. While not guaranteed a place in the knockout stage, Colombia had one foot in. Even though they fell 1-0 to Morocco in the group closer, Las Cafeteras finished in first place in Group H. It’s the first time they’ve ever won their group at the Women’s World Cup and just their second knockout stage appearance.

Now, they have a good shot to make their first quarterfinals but they’ll need to bounce back from a disappointing loss. Colombia’s effort vs. Morocco just didn’t match the level of intensity they showed vs. South Korea and Germany. They’re also favored here vs. Jamaica and they cannot afford to coast in this one.

Jamaica Advance Over Brazil

  • FIFA Women’s World Ranking: 43
  • Group Stage Matches: 0-0 D vs. France, 1-0 W vs. Panama, 0-0 D vs. Brazil
  • Standings: 1-2-0, 2nd Group F

Just three teams didn’t concede a goal in the Australia & New Zealand 2023 group stage. Switzerland, Japan and Jamaica kept three straight clean sheets and all advanced to the round of 16. The feat is especially impressive in Jamaica’s case, given they lost all three of their matches at the Women’s World Cup four years ago.

They got an iconic point in their group stage closer vs. Brazil that sealed their place in the last 16. Jamaica’s presence here is completely unexpected, as France and Brazil are top-ten teams that many thought would cruise into the knockout stage. While France won the group rather comfortably, Jamaica managed to sneak in over Brazil.

Ranked 43rd in the World Cup soccer rankings, Jamaica are one of the lowest-ranked teams remaining. However, their group stage performances were excellent as they picked up a win and two draws vs. top-ten sides. Their defense has been impeccable and goalkeeper Becky Spencer has pulled off some excellent saves. Up top, Jamaica have a real threat in Khadija Shaw and they shouldn’t be underestimated any longer.

Match Analysis & Odds

Despite losing to 72nd-ranked Morocco in their group stage finale, Colombia are favorites for this match. The Colombia vs. Jamaica odds price Colombia as -110 ATS and moneyline favorites for this match. Bettors may choose to be cautious given Colombia’s recent performance, which was the first time in over a year they lost to a team ranked lower than them in the FIFA Women’s World rankings.

Jamaica covered the spread in all three of their group stage matches and Jamaica +0.5 sits at -135 odds here. With how well the Reggae Girlz played defensively in the Group Stage, punters may also be intrigued by the under here. Under two goals display -120 odds, while the over comes in at -110.

Colombia are a solid squad who have been Copa America runners-up twice in a row and enter as +105 favorites. However, Jamaica managed to hold eight-time Copa America champions Brazil scoreless in their last match. This one could be another highly competitive match and the Reggae Girlz are priced at +295 odds to pull off the upset. It wouldn’t at all be surprising if this one goes into extra time either, as a draw shows +235 odds.
