It’s D-Day for Xander Schauffele, who keeps playing well without winning, which is teasing bettors.
His 2024 Farmers Insurance Open odds of +900 headline the field, which includes Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, and many more elite PGA Tour players.
It’s an important tournament on the golf schedule, and they tee off earlier than usual on Wednesday.
Consistency Supreme for Schauffele
We fancied Schauffele to win last week at The American Express, but there was a thought in the back of our mind about his lack of recent wins.
There’s no doubting that class of the 30-year-old, who owns seven professional wins. However, his most recent wins came in 2022 and they were slightly easier golf tournaments, including the Travelers Championship and Zurich Classic.
His win at the Scottish Open was classy, but he didn’t win in 2023, and we think he’s desperate to win this week.
Golf betting this week features an even field, but we’re not surprised by his odds. He finished T3 last week behind amateur Nicholas Dunlap, which is an encouraging sign.
Schauffele just needs to be closer to the top on the golf leaderboard before the final round, otherwise, he’s too far back to launch a serious claim for the prize.

Homa Homing in on Win
Max Homa came of age over the last few years, posting two wins in 2021, two in 2022, and one last year in the Farmers Insurance Open.
The defending champion is back at Torrey Pines South Course to play well again, and he hasn’t been missed in 2024 Farmers Insurance Open odds.
He’s on the second line of betting at +1000, and he could firm into joint favoritism with Schauffele.
Homa didn’t play last week, but he didn’t perform too badly when posting a T14 finish at The Sentry Tournament of Champions.
He was no match for Chris Kirk, but it was a positive start to the year for the 33-year-old American.
He thrives on confidence, and we expect him to be fighting out the finish.
Zalatoris Working His Way Back
It has been a long road back from injury for Will Zalatoris, who is still one of the more exciting golfers on the PGA Tour.
His back injury was a serious one, and although he missed the cut at the Sony Open in his first tournament back, there was improvement when finishing T34 at The American Express last week.
Despite being only a one-time winner on the PGA Tour, it’s clear to anyone who watches golf that he’s a talented player. He showed that when finishing runner-up to Justin Thomas at the PGA Championship.
He might need a few more weeks to show his best golf, but we’re happy with his 2024 Farmers Insurance Open odds of +4500.
That’s a big price for a quality golfer, who is good enough to feature at the top of the leaderboard.

We would love to see more of Adrian Meronk on the PGA Tour, especially after his performance last week in Dubai.
The Polish golfer finished second behind Rory McIroy, and although it’s not easy to adjust to the style of PGA Tour golf courses, he’s good enough to make himself known.
A snub for the European Ryder Cup team, despite having an incredible 2023 on the DP World Tour, Meronk has a point to prove.
He is one of the more consistent golfers in the world, and we think the sportsbook offering +4500 for him to win is excellent value.
Those odds are too good to pass up, and he should be full of confidence following last week’s performance.
