Akin to what the male golfers play with the Ryder Cup, the Solheim Cup is a biennial event, and Europe is looking to win its third consecutive title.
Golf betting is available for the tournament, which takes place in Spain. It’s one of the more exciting golf tournaments on the calendar.
It’s Usually Close
Our Solheim Cup preview expects a closely fought contest, as it has been over the last 10 years.
Europe won 15-13 in 2021 and 14.5-13.5 in 2019, so there has been only one match between them, which is awfully close.
Leona Maguire was the standout player for Europe at Inverness Club in Ohio. She won 4.5 points from a possible five, which is outstanding golf, and she was the main reason why they won.
As the market suggests at the sportsbook, bettors should expect another close contest this year. Europe is a -110 favourite to beat Team USA, which is a slight underdog at +105.
There is very little between them, but because Europe has home advantage and the last two wins on the board, it’s a worthy favorite.
Lewis To Lead Team USA
The experience of Stacy Lewis has been enough to secure her the captaincy for the 2023 and 2024 Solheim Cup in Spain and the USA respectively.
The American is already the captain for the 2023 team, but she will double down and lead her team the following year.

If Lewis plays her best, she’s good enough to make the +105 odds with markets look silly. She captains an excellent team, spearheaded by the Korda sisters, so it’s a talented outfit, and they’re often at the top of the golf leaderboard.
Spain isn’t the best home course advantage for the Europeans. It would have been better for them to be played in the UK, where the conditions are worse. That could play into the hands of the visitors.
Think Twice About the Tie
Bettors have an option to bet on the tie at +1200 with golf markets, and our Solheim Cup preview wouldn’t overlook its chances of happening.
Since its inception in 1990, there has never been a tie. It has been a close-run thing lately, with two Solheim Cups being decided by a point, so it’s not without a chance of happening in 2023.
There are many variables in golf, but the +1200 odds are tough to overlook. We expect a few bets to be placed on that number, which could see it shorten to around +1100 come September.
