Asian Stars Dominate PGA Wyndham Classic Odds

FedEx Cup Points On the Line

PGA Wyndham Classic odds have been released and it’s Hideki Matsuyama, Sungjae Im, and Si Woo Kim headlining the market.

We expect a competitive PGA golf leaderboard this week, and as the FedEx Cup playoffs near, it’s important to pick up as many points as possible.

The PGA golf schedule for 2022/23 is coming to an end, so now is the best time to back your favorite golfers.

Matsuyama Nearing a Win

Matsuyama has been playing good golf recently, including a T13 finish at The Open.

The former Masters champion put himself in a position to challenge for the title, but came up short. However, it’s an encouraging sign for the Japanese superstar.

He followed it up with a T30 at the 3M Open, and although some bettors would have expected better from the 31-year-old, we don’t think he’s far off putting four rounds together.

PGA Wyndham Classic odds agree. He’s the current +1800 favorite, and like many players, he only needs to putt well to win.

Putting has been his struggle on the PGA Tour, which is why many golf bets have come up short. However, there has been steady improvement, especially from close distance.

There is enough value with the +1800 quote to back Matsuyama with confidence.

Stick With Im

Im hasn’t been his usual consistent self lately, which is concerning. However, there’s little doubt about his talent.

The 25-year-old Korean surprisingly missed the cut at the 3M Open after shooting -1, but that followed a tough battle at The Open, where he finished T20.

We’re prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt after a long week at Royal Liverpool, but we expect him to be near the top of the leaderboard.

Golf personality Paige Spiranac believes he’s one of the best iron players on the tour.

“Sungjae has been racking up these top twenties and he hasn’t quite been able to get it done. But he is one of the best iron players on Tour and with a week that has a bit of a weaker field, I think Sungjae can get it done,” Spiranac said.

PGA Wyndham Championship odds have Im on the second line at +2000. That’s getting a touch short, but we’re not leaving him out of selections.

Aberg: A Winner in Waiting

We have highlighted the talents of Ludvig Aberg, and it’s only a matter of time before the Swedish 23-year-old wins.

He finished T64 last week, which was a downturn on his recent performances, which included a T4 at the John Deere Classic behind Sepp Straka.

Granted, most of his best performances have come against weaker PGA Tour fields, but he meets another weaker field this week. The best golfers in the world are on the sidelines, so that opens the door for players like Aberg.

He’s getting used to playing on the PGA Tour, and we’re happy with the +3500 price available.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to play a few of these events before so I’ve been exposed to this a little bit, but I think just going back-to-back weeks is a little bit different from what I’ve done before. It’s just going to take a little time,” Aberg said.

“I think being OK with being a little bit uncomfortable at times is going to be key. All in all, it’s super fun. It’s so much fun to play these events and I’m looking forward to playing a lot more.”
