2023 Open Championship Props: Topping the Group

Looking for Value at Royal Liverpool

We look at the best 2023 Open Championship props, including top American, top European, and top amateur.

Golf betting odds are available for a plethora of Open Championship markets, and there is plenty of value to be snapped up.

Top American – Scottie Scheffler

Scheffler is our top pick to win the Open Championship, so it makes sense to include him in our 2023 Open Championship props.

The superstar has the best golf swing on the PGA Tour, which has been backed up by his results this year. He has been amazingly consistent, which is why he’s the world number one.

Scheffler comes off another top five finish at the Scottish Open, and according to golf news, he’s ready to fire at Royal Liverpool.

“I want to win every time I tee it up, and I think that’s kind of how hard it is. You win once and you want to win twice. It’s funny, as a kid, if you think you win once on the PGA Tour, you’ll be satisfied. And you win once and it’s pretty fun and you want to win again, and the cycle continues,” Scheffler said.

Bettors get +375 for Scheffler to finish ahead of his countrymen. The next best is Brooks Koepka at +1000, who is a solid saver bet.

Top European – Tommy Fleetwood

We like the chances of Rory McIlroy, but we’re going with Tommy Fleetwood for a bit of value.

It could be a case of now or never for the Englishman, who has been knocking on the door of leading the tournament after four days. He keeps coming up short, but we’re keeping the faith.

He comes off a strong performance at the Scottish Open, and although he didn’t win, it holds him in good stead for the Open Championship.

McIlroy is a +300 chance to win, but Fleetwood is paying +900 with 2023 Open Championship props, so take the better value.

Top Amateur – Alex Maguire

It is always tough to weigh up the form of the amatuer golfers, but Alex Maguire represents value at +350.

He has had a strong season to date, including a win in the East of Ireland Amateur Open Championship, followed by a win in the St Andrews Links Trophy.

He finished fifth in The Amateur Championship and his preparation has gone well.

“I’ll play 18 today and nine the next day, I would rather go to bed knowing the course and sort of chill out before the tournament rather than play 18 on the Wednesday and maybe too much. Preparation is going well so far,” Maguire said.

We’re happy to take the value for the local amateur hopeful.

Top LIV Golfer – Brooks Koepka

Last year’s champion Cameron Smith headlines top LIV golfer markets, but we’re going with 2023 PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka.

The American always performs to a high level in the majors, and he pays the better price at +350, compared to +280 for Smith.

Koepka could have easily been a two-time major winner this year alone. He semi-choked in the Masters, but he made up for it with a win in the PGA.

Being a five-time major winner trumps that of a one-time major winner in Smith, so we can’t turn down the value for Koepka.
