Finau Tops 3M Open Odds: A Dominant Force on The Greens

The FedEx Cup Playoffs Near

3M Open odds have been released and it’s Tony Finau favored to win at +1200. However, there are some stellar golfers fancied to win.

The PGA golf leaderboard could be packed with the likes of Cameron Young, Hideki Matsuyama, and Justin Thomas.

It’s one of the more intriguing golf tournaments, so we’re excited for the 3M Open.

Maiden Win Looming for Young

Young loves playing well at the majors after another tidy effort at Open Championship, so the American must be considered with 3M Open odds.

He finished T8 and only two shots out of second place at Holyoake last week, which adds to his impressive majors top 10 record.

Betting on golf is all about finding value and Young represents value at +1400. He could have been much shorter with bookmakers, so we would have been prepared to take around +1000.

“My level of excitement with [being] tied for eighth is absolutely zero,’’ Young said. “I think there’s some positives to take. I put myself in a position to win a major championship and had an unfortunate day. But one of these times the unfortunate day will be the next Tuesday or something and not Sunday.

“I’ve been playing really, really well, so I knew that I had every chance to put myself right in the middle of the golf tournament, and unfortunately just didn’t do it today.”

He is visibly frustrated with his lack of wins, but it’s only a matter of time before he comes up clutch.

Theegala Seeking Bounce Back

Sahith Theegala didn’t play well last week, but he will feel more at home in the United States.

The one-time PGA Tour winner, which came in a pairs tournament, seeks his first solo win, much like Young.

The 25-year-old American is still maturing and he showed his ability when finishing ninth at The Masters, before posting a T5 finish the week following at the RBC Heritage.

His recent form hasn’t been as good, including consecutive missed cuts in Europe. However, we’re keeping the faith with Theegala, and his 3M Open odds of +3500 are generous from the sportsbook.

Straka Ready to Strike

Sepp Straka finished second at the Open Championship, and if he’s not mentally tired, he should be tough to hold out.

The big Austrian entered the Open Championship having won the John Deere Classic, so he’s one of the hottest golfers on the PGA Tour.

The 30-year-old, who has gone under the radar for much of his career, is a +2500 chance to win the 3M Open, having opened at +3000. We’re not surprised by the money coming for the recent winner.

“I feel like my game is in a good place. I’ve got a couple more months of tournaments to take advantage of the good play and hopefully I can do that,” Straka said.

He is an excellent value bet this week and we’re not leaving Straka out of our selections.
