Dillon Brooks Next Team Odds: From Memphis, With Love

Analyzing Dillon Brooks Next Team Odds Market

Brooks Set for Houston Landing?

Dillon Brooks is set for a fresh start next season as he moves on from Memphis after a rather messy break up following the teams first-round exit at the hands of the Lakers. Let’s have a glance at the Dillon Brooks Next Team Odds markets and see if there’s any outside value on his next destination.

Rumors are strong that Brooks may have had a sit down meeting with the Houston Rockets in preparation for a contract proposal once free agency officially gets underway.

The Rockets are currently +1000 to land the former Oregon product and they easily represent the best value for a variety of reasons.

While Brooks’ offensive shortcomings were put on display in the Grizzlies playoff exit this season his defensive upside and on-court aggression is very much in line with what new head coach Ime Udoka will be looking to implement on this young squad.

Brooks is unlikely to have the ball handling or shooting responsibilities that he did recently for a depleted Memphis team and give Houston’s need for wing depth on the roster it would be a seemingly perfect fit for player and team.

The Miami Heat are the betting favorites to grab Brooks when the time comes however, with the NBA Finalists sitting at +600 as they look to get straight to work after a long NBA schedule.

If any player could thrive in the Heat Culture environment it would be one who has seemingly been dismissed by the league and its fans. The chip-on-the-shoulder mentality that everyone in Miami possesses would be something Brooks would relish, but how he would fit in Erik Spoelstra’s scheme remains highly questionable and a big reason why bettors will dismiss them as legitimate candidates.

Playoff Teams Hungry for Wing Talent

One thing that remains highly valuable in the NBA is an elite defensive wing that can guard a multitude of positions. Brooks certainly ticks that box and so it’s not surprising to see a host of playoff teams near the top of the betting market to land him.

Wing defenders can impact NBA games at a high enough level in the playoffs that their value will always be noticed by those with financial capabilities to make a fair offer.

The Phoenix Suns (+600) are joint favorites to land Brooks, but their financial restraints after acquiring Bradley Beal should keep them out of the conversation barring a trade to free up a Mid-Level Exception package.

The Dallas Mavericks are next in line at +800 and the on-court fit makes sense given how thin they are on wing defense after trading away their best defenders to acquire Kyrie Irving. A lot of what they do in free agency centers around Irving’s impending decision, but even if he opts in, the financials would be difficult to iron out.

The Utah Jazz (+800), Cleveland Cavaliers (+900) and LA Lakers (+900) are next in the betting markets, but neither destination seems likely from a basketball perspective. The Cavs and Lakers are in desperate need of floor spacing, which is something Brooks won’t provide them.

The Jazz could do with his services but given the timeline of that team it seems highly unlikely they’d be willing to commit the $17 million salary expected to bring him to Salt Lake City.

Dillon Brooks Next Team Odds Best Bet

Well, this one if probably a little obvious given what we’ve already outlined but taking position on the Houston Rockets at +1000 is easily the top play in this market.

The other outside shot to look at aside from Houston would be the Sacramento Kings at +1100.

Mike Brown completely transformed the Kings in his first season and after breaking the longest playoff drought in the NBA they’ll be looking at ways to take the next step.

Brooks’ defense would be a huge addition to the roster and his offensive frailties are unlikely to be as emphasized in Brown’s high-octane system.

Those are the two bets we will be making on Dillon Brooks Next Team Odds. Be sure to keep an eye on breaking news to make sure you stay ahead of the markets.
