Hornets Situated to Sting Visiting Suns
Underdogs Could Topple Suns vs Hornets Odds

The Charlotte Hornets are the big underdogs against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night at the Spectrum Center.
Suns vs Hornets odds have the home side at +9.5, which is a sizable line considering the Suns play consecutive road games.
It could be a great chance for the Hornets to keep it close.

Suns Not Covering Spreads
It’s a sad state of affairs for Suns’ backers, who haven’t had much success.
They are 25-39-2 ATS, which isn’t ideal, and although they’re only playing the Hornets on Friday, covering a -9.5 spread on the road is tough.
We haven’t been overly impressed with the Suns’ form lately. They defeated the Nuggets, Raptors, and Cavaliers, but losses to the Celtics and Thunder have put their NBA playoff standings in question.
We still don’t think they’re a genuine title contender, and although Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are talented shooters, this team has no identity.
Suns vs Hornets odds have the Suns heavily favored to win, but statistics suggest it’s a bad bet. They are 13-17-1 ATS on the road, and the Hornets have a better ATS (14-18 at home), which shows how you can cash in on worse teams.
If you want to watch a team take solo jump shots then the Suns are for you. If they’re not dropping, they could have a tough time covering the spread and winning the game outright, especially the second game of a back-to-back.
Hornets Finding their Sting
The Hornets have no chance at the playoffs, but with recent wins over the Nets and Grizzlies, they’re cashing for bettors.
NBA starting lineups reports have no injuries listed for the home side, and it’s rare to see that. A healthy Hornets team can sting the best teams in the NBA, so we’re entertaining the odds.
NBA games today often focus on the best teams, but now could be the best time for bettors to strike. The sportsbook could underrate their chances, and that’s evident with Suns vs Hornets odds.
There’s little doubt that Phoenix is the better team, but the Hornets are more than capable of keeping it close at Spectrum Center.
The last time they met the Suns won 133-119 at home. But the Suns don’t play as well on the road.
Having just beaten the Grizzlies on the road, the Hornets should enjoy being back at home.
“Every win on the road is big in the NBA,” Miles Bridges said. “As long as we keep getting better, that’s all I’m worried about.”
An Upset Brewing
We might not have the guts to back the Hornets to win outright with Suns vs Hornets odds, but we’ll happily take the +9.5 line.
At face value, it’s not an easy pick because the Suns have far more offensive weapons, but we haven’t been impressed with their attitude on defense.
Against the Celtics on Thursday, they allowed every player to have wide-open shots, and that doesn’t impress us at an NBA level.
Until the Suns start showing some fight and toughness, we’re going to go against them. Getting just under double digits is generous.
We’re taking over 216.5 as well, mostly due to the lack of Suns’ defense. It’s a lower total than expected, and the Hornets’ offense could surprise on Friday.
They have scored 110 points in two of their last three games, and something similar could be enough for the over to cash.
