Kings vs Warriors Odds: Sacramento Hanging By a Thread

Warriors Return Home to Wrap Up Series

Golden State Experience Trumps Youth

The Warriors are one win away from stamping their ticket to another second-round appearance in the Western Conference playoffs. Here’s a look at the Kings vs Warriors Odds as we take a look at what to expect for Game 6.

The Sacramento Kings have seen a 2-0 series lead disappear as they now face elimination on the road after dropping three straight games to the defending champions. The health of De’Aaron Fox will be the primary concern for Sacramento as they try to find a way to get overcome Golden State’s clutch play down the stretch.

Meanwhile, the Warriors look primed for another deep run as they start to find the balance and execution that has made them one of the best teams in the modern era. Their NBA playoff odds continue to drop as they claw their way back into the series and the early rest could be a huge advantage for them if they are able to wrap this one up early.

The Warriors are 7.5-point home favorites for Game 6 with the total sitting at 235.0 points. The Kings are currently 3-2 ATS this series while the Over has also gone 3-2 to date.

Steph, Klay Still Outshining Opponents

The Warriors biggest advantage has always been the perimeter scoring from their backcourt duo and in a series where two of the top offenses are going toe-to-toe it’s once again Steph Curry and Klay shining brightest.

Curry and Thompson combined for 56 points in Game 5 as the Warriors stole home court advantage ahead of their return to Chase Center.

The Kings defensive frailties were the biggest talking point coming into the playoffs and as the series has progressed they’ve been picked apart in halfcourt sets by this Warriors motion offense.

Over the past three games, the Warriors offensive rating has been in the 85th percentile and own a 58.7% Effective Field Goal average to match. The issue for the Kings is they haven’t been able to garner that same level of regular season efficiency from their backcourt duo of Fox and Kevin Huerter.

Coach Steve Kerr has certainly unlocked something with his three-guard lineups by including Jordan Poole alongside the Splash Brothers and the extra spacing on the perimeter has left the Kings defense stretched and without answers given their lack of wing play.

If Golden State is to emerge from this NBA playoff series it’ll be on the back of their offense and given their ridiculous home shooting splits it certainly leaves Sacramento with an uphill battle to try and force a Game 7.

Young Kings Need to Play Carefree Basketball

Coach Mike Brown will make sure his players understand that they were one play away from being up 3-1 in this series prior to Game 5 and they’ll need to carry that confidence into their first elimination game together.

Sacramento’s uptempo nature caused Golden State plenty of problems early in the series and while the defending champs have slowly figured things out they need to recognize that their best defense is still their offense.

Playing off-ball and attacking Golden State’s guards on the perimeter will help slow the Warriors offensive potential and that could provide the platform for them to be better equipped in the clutch against one of the most experienced teams in the playoffs. The highly anticipated matchup between the Warriors vs Kings is sure to be a thrilling game.

A small ball lineup around Domantas Sabonis could give them the type of uptempo pace-and-space lineup to cause discomfort for Golden State that can provide the offensive spurts that could swing this game. That approach could be what also brings out the best in the Fox/Monk/Huerter lineups and the perfect counter for the Curry/Thompson/Poole minutes.

Looking at the possible adjustments by Mike Brown and the fact that this pace should continue above 100 possessions each per game then this total remains too low given the offensive firepower on both sides of the court.

Take the Over in this one and expect fireworks from a desperate Sacramento team that will try to push everything in a desperate spot.
