It followed consecutive losses to the Clippers and Knicks, but that followed wins over the Suns and Mavericks.
Consistency isn’t there for the Grizzlies, who are playing without their two best scorers, Morant and Bane.
We expect them to struggle over the next few months, and that’s reflected in the current NBA betting line.
It’s also reflected in NBA standings, which have the Grizzlies well down the list in the Western Conference.
They are nine games behind the New Orleans Pelicans in the Southwest standings, and although they showed toughness last time on the court, they could struggle to handle the Timberwolves’ depth.
Their last two meetings against the Wolves resulted in 24 and 22-point losses, hence the big line.
Timberwolves Thriving at Home
Minnesota is 16-2 at Target Center, including its last two games against the Trail Blazers and Clippers, and our Grizzlies vs Timberwolves game preview is confident in their chances.
The Timberwolves have a healthy roster, and they should march toward an excellent record. We expect many of their players to feature in the NBA All Star game, so it’s an impressive roster.

Anthony Edwards comes off a 33-point performance, and if he plays like that again, the Wolves will be tough to beat.

Covering -13.5 spreads isn’t easy, even for the best NBA teams, but the Timberwolves are one of the deepest teams in the NBA. They have multiple elite scorers, and Gobert could dominate in the paint.
