The Wolves have been missing their star big man Karl-Anthony Towns during their final stretch, but have thrived in his absence.
In a post-game interview star guard Anthony Edwards implied Towns will be returning soon, saying “KAT coming back, KAT will be back”.
Anthony Edwards has averaged 26.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists in the three games against the Nuggets this season. The Wolves will need a big night from him to beat Denver on Wednesday.
The Timberwolves have won eight of their last ten games, but are only 5-5 against the spread (ATS) in these games. They will put everything they have into this one. But the Nuggets will too and that is scary.

Nuggets Have Been Here Before
There is no question that this game has huge playoff implications. This is the last home game for the Denver Nuggets and a win will likely put them in position to finish the season as the top seed.
With the privilege of winning a championship, Denver has taken this season at face value. They haven’t broken their back for regular season wins, prioritizing being healthy and ready for another deep playoff run. That being said, here they are playing for an opportunity to position themselves to win the Western Conference standings.
The Nuggets have won four of their last five games. Their last three losses however are all against Western Conference contenders, the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and this Minnesota team they are facing this Wednesday.
The Nuggets, as always, will look to their MVP Nikola Jokic to lead the way. The Joker has averaged 30.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the three games against the Timberwolves this season. These teams have already played three times this season, the Timberwolves are up 2-1 in the season series. While the Nuggets may not have put as much thought into this matchup as the Timberwolves, we believe they will use Wednesday’s game as a reminder of who everyone needs to go through to win the West.
In their previous three games, the Timberwolves have covered the spread each time, and the games have gone under the total in two of three. Although we believe the Nuggets will tie up the season series, the Wolves getting five points on the road is certainly enticing.
