Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds: Wolves Ready to Run In New Direction

Reacting to Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds Market

Is It Time to Part Ways in Minnesota?

Karl-Anthony Towns was drafted to be the face of the franchise in Minnesota, but with Anthony Edwards seemingly stealing that mantle is it time for a change of scenery for the former Kentucky man? Let’s take a look at the Karl-Anthony Towns Next Teams Odds market and see what we can find for bettors.

The decision to trade for Rudy Gobert last offseason certainly sent the franchise in a different direction and the team’s performances in Towns’ absence certainly fuelled suggestions that the time has come for them to trade their All-Star big man.

Towns still present as an elite scorer in the league and one that can help unlock an offense that may be stuck in its ways. It’s not a surprise then to see the New York Knicks as the favorites to be the team to land Towns at +300 odds.

The Knicks are looking to build off their recent playoff run and a player like Towns commands the star presence that the New York market craves while also giving them the on-court upside that fills a big void on this team.

The idea of Towns linking up with Jalen Brunson will certainly get tails wagging in NYC and the logistics of a deal would likely involve getting a third team involved in order to help offload Julius Randle’s contract. If they can overcome that hurdle and find a way for Minnesota to recoup some draft capital for future NBA picks this would be a move that would seemingly work for everyone involved.

A non-contender that could have all the assets to acquire Towns is the Washington Wizards, who are +400 in the betting market. No team could absorb Towns’ contract while also offering assets in return quite like the Wizards, but the big obstacle here is understanding how willing Washington would be to do that after dumping their current stars and beginning a clear rebuild in DC.

Plenty of Takers in Towns Sweepstakes

Towns unique skillset at the Center position makes him an intriguing prospect for teams looking to take a step forward in their quest for a championship.

One team hoping for a big step forward this season is the Houston Rockets. New head coach Ime Udoka will look to instill a new culture within the organization and bringing in an All-Star caliber big man to go with the insane athleticism on this roster could fast-track the Rockets playoff ambitions.

At +600 the price might be a bit short however, but that’s not to say there isn’t true value at similar prices elsewhere on the board.

The Toronto Raptors are +700 to be the next team on Towns resume and that’s somewhere that he could truly rebuild himself as the face of a franchise. The team looks set on moving on from their current roster construction and moving towards a more traditional lineup that features a true Center at the five-spot.

Jakob Poeltl was very impactful in a short period of time, but his looming free agency could see him move on. The Raptors were a much more reliable team in the NBA betting lines to finish the season and the data also points to a more efficient team when Pascal Siakam is moved back to the forward slot.

Toronto has the pieces to make this work and can absorb the supermax contract that Towns hold. Of all the teams on the board, this one certainly seems to tick the most boxes and make the most sense for both franchises involved.

Another team that could be of value at +750 is the Brooklyn Nets. Nic Claxton certainly took a backward step following the departures of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant and given the gluttony of 3-and-D wings at their disposal they too could find a way to offer the right assets to bring Towns to Barclays Center.

Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds Best Bet

It’s pretty clear that there’s some value to be found in this market if Towns does leave Minnesota, but the standout to me is a possible deal that sends him to Toronto.

The Raptors want star power and Towns would seemingly be the perfect fit alongside Siakam and Scottie Barnes. If Toronto is willing to move OG Anunoby and some draft capital the deal could get done rather quickly on both sides and could ultimately benefit everyone involved.

The Knicks will do what they can to enter the race as well, but things are a lot more complicated in trying to convince Minnesota or a third team to take on Randle’s contract.

The Karl-Anthony Towns Next Team Odds market only pays out if his next team isn’t the Timberwolves and that makes sprinkling on the Raptors the right play at the current price.
