Bears vs Packers Betting Odds: North Rivalry Renewed on SNF

Packers Big fav's at Home, Can Bears Pull Miracle Two Consecutive Weeks?

Bears vs Packers Betting Odds: The Chicago Bears found an opening week win as an outright dog against San Francisco, while the  Green Bay Packers were stunned by the Minnesota Vikings.

Before diving deeper into our Bears vs Packers betting odds let’s look at some of the relevant trends that may give us an edge when throwing down our cash this Sunday.

Chicago is just 7-22 ATS against the Packers in their last 29 meetings and losers of five of six against the spread in Green Bay over the last few seasons. The favorite has covered five straight with the over-cashing in four of the last five games in Green Bay.

Gipson, Bears Give Packers Extra Motivation

Continuing our Bears vs Packers betting odds: On Wednesday, Bears DE Trevis Gipson tweeted out a statement that all but assured that the Bears would beat Green Bay.

He threw head coach Matt Eberflus under the bus by saying that he thinks the Bears are better than Green Bay. That remains to be seen but perhaps that vote of confidence was meant to be kept in-house. The NFL point spread -10, shows that bookmakers don’t agree with Eberflus or Gipson.

The public has pushed this number up from 9.5 with 73% of the money coming in on the Pack. On the other side, QB Aaron Rodgers has publicly said that he owns the Bears, which is a fact. Dating back to Rodgers’ first full season as a Packer starter in 2008, the 10-time Pro-Bowler is 21-7 against Chicago, handing bettors 1313 units.

In that span, Green Bay is 18-6 (+1127 units) as a favorite and 10-4 (+559 units) as a home favorite. Even when you factor in data when Green Bay is a favorite of nine points or more, the Packers are still sending bettors home a winner with 15 covers in their last 19 games (+1051 units).

Packers Haven’t Lost to Bears in Lambeau Since Favre’s Jersey Retired

The last time the Bears walked off the tundra of Lambeau Field, where thunderstorms could play a role in the outcome, player Jay Cutler was the Bear’s QB. Last time out at home, Matt LaFleur’s team put up 45 points on Chicago in their 15-point win.

That was 2015 when the Chicago defense harassed Rodgers most of the night. Since Green Bay is 11-1 against Chicago, including 6-0 at Lambeau. In those 12 games, the green and gold have scored 30 points or more five times.

The 4-time all-pro QB’ statistics against Chicago have reflected a signal caller who is confidently telling the world about his success against the Bears and has thrown 61 touchdowns and just 10 picks in his career against the former Monsters of the Midway. It’s been three seasons since Rodgers has thrown a pick against Chicago.

Public Divided Some on Side, All-In on Under

Concluding our Bears vs Packers betting odds: This is turning into a classic pro’s vs Joe’s matchup, for now. With 73% of the total money wagered coming in on Green Bay, forcing the number to go from 9.5 to 10, you would think that everyone is in on the Pack.

So far professional syndicates have driven the line, but the general betting public has fought back with 60% on the Bears.  Anticipate the number holding on at 10 unless a ton of Chicago money comes in to match the number of bets.

The NFL week 2 over under looks appealing but our official recommendation is to bet with what you know. What we know is that the Packers and Rodgers have indeed owned the Bears.

Remember last season when the Packers lost their first game, 38-3, to the New Orleans Saints? Everyone wrote them off saying Rodgers didn’t seem interested in the game anymore. They then went on to win seven straight, putting up no less than 24 points in those wins. Don’t overthink this, Green Bay -10.
