Despite injuries, New Orleans Is Favored Against the Visiting Giants

The Giants vs Saints Betting Trends Has New Orleans Favored to Pick Up Fourth Home Win

Giants Go After Fourth Consecutive Win

Welcome to the NFC where a losing record with four games remaining doesn’t eliminate a team from playoff contention. The New York Giants and New Orleans Saints have some work to do, but are still looking to make a push towards the NFL playoffs. When looking at the Giants vs Saints betting trends, New Orleans is listed as the favorite.

The Giants lead the all-time series 17-14. However, the Saints have won five of the last eight meetings.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

The NFL betting lines list the Saints as six-point favorites, up from five points in the last week.

The Giants have won three games in a row and are just a game out of the final playoff spot in the NFC even though they have been eliminated from the NFC East race. New Orleans is tied with Tampa Bay and Atlanta atop the NFC South standings with a 6-7 record. It is the only division without a team with a winning record.

When looking at the NFL scores, the Giants are 4-2 in one-score games this season compared to a 3-5 record for the Saints. New Orleans is 3-3 at home with the Giants just 2-5 on the road. The Giants are 4-4 against NFC teams, which is one game ahead of the Saints.

Receiver Parris Campbell (knee) is questionable for the Giants while they continue to play without Jones and tight end Darren Waller.

For New Orleans, defensive end Isaiah Foskey, tight end Taysom Hill, Olave and fellow receiver Rashid Shaheed and running back Kendre Miller are all questionable. The Saints are without receiver Michael Thomas, cornerback Marshon Lattimore, offensive lineman Trai Turner, defensive end Payton Turner and safety Marcus Maye.

New Orleans came into the season tied for fifth in the odds of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl with the Giants having the eighth-best odds. The Saints are tied for ninth at +6000 with the Giants tied with Washington and Arizona for the longest NFC championship odds among the 15 teams still in contention for the postseason.

Rookie QB Leading Resurgent Giants

With injuries to quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, the Giants have turned to undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito.

DeVito became the first starting rookie quarterback to lead the Giants to three straight wins since Phil Simms.

While there has been plenty of buzz about DeVito, the Giants are still last in the NFL in passing yards per game and are 31st in both points and yards per game. Keep that in mind when looking at the Giants vs Saints betting trends.

The Giants have scored the fewest first-quarter points in the NFL and are 30th out of 32 teams in points scored in the second quarter so there has been a lot of playing catch-up this NFL season.

Eight of the last 11 games for the Giants have gone over the Las Vegas odds total.

Opportunities Being Squandered for New Orleans

The Saints are in the top 10 in rushing attempts and passing attempts per game. However, that hasn’t translated into a dynamic offense.

New Orleans is just 14th in the NFL in scoring offense. They are also 14th in passing yards and 20th in total yards. That could factor into the Giants vs Saints betting trends.

Injuries have played a role in the offense being stagnant at times.

Derek Carr, the Saints starting quarterback, and receiver Chris Olave are the only skill-position NFL players to appear in every game. However, both have been dealing with injuries in recent weeks.

New Orleans is 1-4 against the NFL betting lines in its last five games.

Last Meeting

The visiting Giants won 27-21 in 2021 as seven-point underdogs in the last NFL matchup between the teams. The Giants scored 11 points in the final 6:52 to force overtime with Saquon Barkley scoring the winning touchdown in overtime.

Barkley’s touchdown in overtime sent the game over the 42.5-point total.

Five of the last seven games between the teams finished over the total.

The Giants are trying to win consecutive games against the Saints for the first time since the 1991 and 2001 seasons.

Giants vs Saints Betting Preview

When looking at the NFL odds this week, the Giants are a combined 8-16-2 against the spread this season. New Orleans has covered in just one of the five games this season as the home favorite. The Giants are 2-4 against the spread as the underdog on the road.

New Orleans has a 3-2 outright record as the favorite at home with the Giants 1-5 as the road underdog.

The Giants have lost five of their last six road games.

The total has gone under in four of the Giants’ last five games against NFC South teams. The total has gone from 36 to 39.5 over the last week.

The Saints have covered in only one of their last eight home games.

While much of the attention has been focused on DeVito, the offense for the Giants still revolves around running back Saquon Barkley while New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara has the potential to take a game over as well.
