Devon Achane Player Stats: Making Records in a Historic Offense

Count Us In as Part of Achane Gang!

De’Von Achane’s Stats for 2023

When the Miami Dolphins hired Mike McDaniel, they invested in an offensive genius who specialized in the running game. In his second year, that’s realized through the team’s running backs: Raheem Mostert and rookie Devon Achane. The pair led Miami to a historic ass-kicking over Denver as the ‘Phins scored 70 points and ran for 350 yards. Of course, De’Von Achane’s player stats were through the roof as he set all kinds of rookie records.

Riding the Achane to the Record Books

The Dolphins knew what they were getting with Achane: a shifty yet powerful running back who could figure in whatever creative scheme McDaniel would run. And boy did he deliver against Denver as he compiled 233 yards from scrimmage with four total touchdowns. De’Von Achane’s player stats not only blew up fantasy lines but set some records.

Check it: Achane became the first player to rush for over 200 yards and score two rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns. He also became just the 20th rookie to hit the 200-yard mark and only the second (Jonathan Taylor in 2021) in the last eight seasons.

Achane also helped Miami set 13 franchise records including most points scored in a game (70), most touchdowns in a game (10), most team total yards in a game (726), and most rushing yards in a game (350). Miami scored more points in one game than 18 NFL teams have in three games this season. How about that for today’s NFL scores?!

De’Von Achane’s Player Profile & Stats

The Dolphins drafted Achane with the 84th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Coming out of Texas A&M, he was the sixth running back taken. In college, Achane was a first-team All-SEC in his final season. He also won the MVP of the 2021 Orange Bowl. In short: the kid is experienced with big-time performances.

Achane’s Current Stats

The rookie set quite a measuring stick as far as his potential. And even if De’Von Achane’s player stats won’t come close to what he pulled this Sunday, he should still be a solid bet to remain a prolific back this 2023.

Lock it Up For Achane This Season?

After that performance, Achane may have just inserted himself into the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation. Many NFL betting lines had Achane listed as a longshot when the season started. Now, his line has shortened considerably at 12-1.

Achane may have just established himself as Miami’s top running back. He entered the season as third on the depth chart behind Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson. But with the latter on the injury reserve, look for McDaniel to find more ways to incorporate Achane into Miami’s offense.
