NFL Oddsmaker Power Rankings: By the Books – the Ones That Matter
It’s All About the Money, Money, Money

Power Rankings are like farts – everyone’s cracked one, and they usually stink. Most of these rankings are based entirely on opinion, with facts used as window dressing at best. We’ve made our own rankings: the NFL Oddsmaker Power Rankings. While we’re guilty of using opinion in sorting this out, we grouped them into tiers based on how profitable (or unprofitable) they have been through two weeks. Behold:
NFL Teams on How Rich (or Poor) They’ve Made You
At the end of the day, we degenerates can only truly judge an NFL team based on how much money they have made or lost us. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers? They’re pillaging sportsbooks like it’s the golden age of piracy. As such, they’ve rightfully sailed to the top of our NFL Oddsmaker Power Rankings.
The Millionaire Makers
These teams are not only unbeaten on both the moneyline and NFL spreads, but in Tampa’s, Miami’s, and Baltimore’s cases, they’ve won as underdogs. That gives them that edge over Dallas, who is still spotless as it has made easy money with two dominant victories as chalk.
Tampa Bay (2-0; 2-0 ATS)
Miami Dolphins (2-0; 2-0 ATS)
Baltimore Ravens (2-0; 2-0 ATS)
Dallas Cowboys (2-0; 2-0 ATS)
Making Money the Sweaty Way
The next tier features the remaining five undefeated teams. They missed out on the top tier because they dropped the ball with some NFL scores today and had to make their backers sweat. Washington won as an underdog against Denver but couldn’t cover against Arizona.
Washington Commanders (2-0; 1-1 ATS)
Philadelphia Eagles (2-0; 1-0-1 ATS)
Atlanta Falcons (2-0; 1-1 ATS)
San Francisco 49ers (2-0; 1-1 ATS)
New Orleans Saints (2-0; 0-1-1 ATS)
Underdogs Earning a Bit
This tier features teams that have won and lost but could still be on the “green” when it comes to overall earnings. That’s because these teams delivered as underdogs. Bettors who shrewdly bet them straight would be up a few. The exception here is Arizona, which is winless but is 2-0 on the spread.
Los Angeles Rams (1-1; 2-0 ATS)
Tennessee Titans (1-1; 2-0 ATS)
Green Bay Packers (1-1; 2-0 ATS)
Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
New York Jets (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Detroit Lions (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Arizona Cardinals (0-2; 2-0 ATS)
Seattle Seahawks (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Indianapolis Colts (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Las Vegas Raiders (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Breaking Even, Losing Money
This is the tier to watch as these four teams are legitimate contenders. Buffalo, Kansas City, and Jacksonville will fill up NFL team stats and are likely shoo-ins for the playoffs. However, spread bettors would be at a loss going by their records.
Buffalo Bills (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Kansas City Chiefs (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
Cleveland Browns (1-1; 1-1 ATS)
The Bankroll Burners
If you’ve bet on these teams, you’re likely down. If you’ve bet on them more than once, you’re probably in a hole. There is still plenty of time for most of them to turn it around. But as it stands, these are the worst of our NFL Oddsmaker Power Rankings.
New York Giants (1-1; 0-2 ATS)
Carolina Panthers (0-2; 0-1-1 ATS)
Minnesota Vikings (0-2; 0-1-1 ATS)
New England Patriots (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
Cincinnati Bengals (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
Los Angeles Chargers (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
Denver Broncos (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
Houston Texans (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
Chicago Bears (0-2; 0-2 ATS)
