Nick Chubb’s Stats: Browns RB Could Be 2023’s Best
Chubb Running in Potentially His Last Season with Cleveland

It is not a good time to be an elite running back in today’s NFL. Saquon Barkley and the New York Giants, among others, have been at odds on a new deal. The Pro Bowler held a meeting with other top running backs to help solve their issues. The Browns’ Nick Chubb was among the attendees. With him entering a contract season, how will Nick Chubb’s stats look amidst this growing issue for his kind?

Chubb’s Point: Production is Counter-Productive to the Position?
Chubb made some strong but harrowing points following his Zoom call with Barkley and the other elite running backs.
“Right now, it’s just talking; there’s really nothing we can do,” Chubb said via the Browns’ official transcript. “The biggest thing is that we’re the only position where our production hurts us the most. If we go out there and run 2,000 yards with so many carries, the next year, they’re going to say you’re probably worn down. It’s tough. It hurts us just to go out there and do well.”
The four-time Pro Bowler is, at worst, one of the five best running backs in the NFL. Nick Chubb’s stats show that he’s accumulated the second-most rushing yards since he entered the league in 2018. Only Derrick Henry has earned more. And Chubb has helped resurrect the once-moribund Browns. Based on their NFL team standings and outright odds, the team is now a contender.
With a lot of pressure for the team to become a Super Bowl threat again, the team will look to Chubb to lead it on offense. And despite what he knows of the bear market around his position, he seems to have accepted it and could return to producing as he earns a new contract.
Nick Chubb’s Player Profile & Stats
The Browns drafted Chubb in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He rushed for 996 yards in his rookie season on just 192 carries. The Cleveland Browns standings’ improved significantly, going from being winless (0-16) to winning seven games.
Last Year’s Stats
In his fifth season, Nick Chubb’s stats were better than ever. He set several career bests, including carries, rushing yards, and total touchdowns.

Chubb For 2K: Running Back Could Do It
Chubb sort of foreshadowed something he has to do to win a major award: rush for 2,000+ yards. Henry pulled it off in 2020 and was awarded the Offensive Player of the Year. The Browns’ star is 40-1 to win the award and he’s tied with Henry at +550 to lead the league in rushing yards. If the Browns are to make good of their NFL playoff odds, a monstrous season for Chubb will help.
