Atlanta Falcons 2023 Future Odds: Super Bowl, Conference, Division, Regular Season Wins and Player Props
Falcons Ready to Soar to New Heights in 2023

Every season, an unexpected NFL team performs much better than expected. In 2023, the Atlanta Falcons could be that team. Thanks to a productive offseason, Atlanta looks much better than it did last season. Upgrades to the defense, a prolific running back tandem, and a promising young quarterback make this a team to watch out for. The 2023 Atlanta Falcons stats should improve.

Falcons Aiming to Be 2023’s Most Improved Team
The Falcons finished with a 7-10 record last year. Believe it or not, that’s actually something to be proud of as it went way over its 4.5 NFL regular season win total. Atlanta did so by playing its conference well. It finished 8-4 against the spread (ATS) when playing its conference opponents.
But maybe Atlanta was just underestimated a bit too much by the oddsmakers. This coming season, it nearly doubled its win total to 8.5. And judging by the lines are moving, the public thinks Atlanta will get nine or more wins. There are two main reasons for that: 1) the team’s improvements; and 2) the easy schedule.
Atlanta, which fielded a 23rd-ranked defense in 2022, bulked it up this offseason. General manager Terry Fontenot opened the purse to bring in several notable defenders from safety Jessie Bates III to defensive lineman Calais Campbell.
And on offense, the Falcons drafted superstar running back Bijan Robinson. On top of Tyler Allgeier, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, and multi-purpose back Cordarrelle Patterson, Atlanta has the best backs.
The Falcons have a legitimate shot to win the NFC South and return to the playoffs. This team will, at the least, be fun to watch. A lot will be on sophomore quarterback Desmond Ridder. If he can improve his 2023 Atlanta Falcons stats signififcantly, the team will contend.
Super Bowl Odds: Maybe in Two Seasons
While the rest of the Falcons’ outright odds shortened with their offseason improvements, their Super Bowl odds did not budge at 80-1. Winning more games and making the playoffs is a nice story. But it doesn’t mean Atlanta will suddenly leapfrog the top teams of the NFL.
Atlanta’s easy regular season schedule could be a detriment to its postseason odds. It plays in the NFC South then faces the NFC North and AFC South. These are the three weakest divisions based on prognostications. Making the NFL playoffs could be too much of a step up, especially if Atlanta faces a top three team on the road.
But the team will gain valuable experience and come back stronger for the next seasons.
Conference Odds: Ready to Get Exposed
Atlanta will be a nice story for the regular season. But come the playoffs, the 2023 Atlanta Falcons stats will mean nothing. An elite NFC contender like Philadelphia or San Francisco will quickly crush Atlanta’s dreams of making a deep playoff run. And even a more experienced team like Dallas or the Rams can soundly defeat Atlanta.
But the rest should be beatable if the Falcons’ stars align. The team will need to win the division to gain home field advantage, especially since Atlanta is a dome team. It can win one maybe even two playoff games. But beating either Philly or San Francisco is a tall task hence Atlanta’s odds at 28-1.
Division Odds: Flying to the Top
Atlanta is listed at +240 to win the division, which is behind New Orleans at +120 and just ahead of Carolina at +325. That means the Falcons may fall just short of winning the division title. But the Falcons’ backers could take that number and more than double their wagers.
None of the NFC South teams are a sure bet this season. After all, each team finished with a losing record in 2022 as Atlanta tied New Orleans and Carolina with their win totals. And the Falcons improved the most during the offseason, at least on paper. It will just need to do better than its 2-4 divisionm record.
Regular Season Wins: Plenty of Room
With plenty of beatable teams on their schedule, the Falcons should climb the NFL’s NFC standings. Unlike last season where Atlanta was an underdog in 12 of its 17 games, expect the Falcons to have shorter NFL odds.
Atlanta hosts Houston and Indianapolis, which should be two comfortable victories for the Falcons. It also visits the Cardinals and Bears and plays Tampa Bay twice. These games could all favor Atlanta, which doesn’t even include Carolina, Tennessee and Washington. All-in-all, Atlanta could win eight to 10 games. Anything less will be a disappointment.
To Make Playoffs: Depends on the Division
If the Falcons do win 10 games, that should be good enough to get it a playoff spot. The line has moved from +180 to +120 on Atlanta’s chances to make the postseason. But to guarantee a spot, the Falcons should win the division. It hasn’t done this since 2016.
Matt Ryan won both the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards. Thankfully, Ridder does not need to do that for the Falcons to edge the Saints and Panthers. He needs to make the right plays and move the ball. Anything more he can add will be a bonus as the team’s running backs is expected to do the heavy lifting.
Side Bets: The Next Great Running Back
Speaking of the running backs, all eyes will be on Robinson as he enters the season with plenty of hype. The Texas back is favored to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at +275. He’ll be the first running back to win it since Saquon Barkley in 2018. That’s how good he might have to be.
Rushing for 1,000+ yards while hauling in 400+ receiving yards should be doable for Robinson. It’s also possible for him to rush for the most yards at 14-1 on the Las Vegas odds. But he will be sharing the rock with Allgeier and Patterson so this may be a pipe dream despite his immense talent.
