Giants, Panthers Return as Big Underdogs For Week 6
Week 5 was filled with upsets – underdogs went 6-8 with Jacksonville delivering the biggest (+195). But unfortunately for those looking for shockers, the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers got their butts handed to them as the odds expected. But they each get second cracks at delivering shockers this week. They are two of our biggest Week 6 NFL upsets and underdog picks and only one could pull it off.
Giant Underdogs in Buffalo
Giants at Bills 
Point Spread: New York Giants +14.5 (-110)
Moneyline: +650
The Giants get no breaks on their NFL schedule. After losing to Miami 31-15, they now have to take on the Bills in Buffalo. The Bills are coming off a loss and could take out its frustrations on New York. The Bills average over 31 points after a defeat since 2021. And when this team wins, it wins in one way: blowout.
The Bills’ three wins this 2023 are by 28+ points and they are 18-1 in games decided by 10+ points since 2021. The Giants have a -91 point differential and average 12.4 points a game. New York’s 62 total points is fewer than what Buffalo has scored in the last two games alone: 68.

Panthers at Dolphins 
Point Spread: Carolina Panthers +14 (-115)
Moneyline: +600
The Panthers got outclassed by the Lions last week. But this week, we like where the NFL spread is moving on this team: now at 14 points. That’s a lot of points even against the seemingly unstoppable Dolphins. Miami is ranked first in nearly every significant offensive category. Carolina? In the bottom third of the league at best.
So why do we like Carolina? It’s the NFL matchup. The Panthers can minimize Miami’s scoring by controlling the clock. This team is ranked in the top 10 in average drive statistics including time on the field and number of plays per drive on both sides of the ball.
This is a good game for Carolina to win the battle of possessions. Bryce Young, despite his stats, is an accurate quarterback who makes the right reads. And while Miami ranks highly in pressure rate, its passing defense is vulnerable. On top of that, the Dolphins’ red zone defense allows over two touchdowns a game. Call us nuts. But for this Week 6 NFL upset and underdog pick, the Panthers will win and cover. Pick: Carolina Panthers +600
Browns Get the 49ers in Return to Action
Browns at 49ers 
Point Spread: Cleveland Browns +8.5 (-110)
Moneyline: +320
When this line opened, Cleveland was a slight 1.5-point underdog. Right after news broke that quarterback Deshaun Watson would not play, it quickly escalated to where it is now. We don’t blame the widening as Cleveland might just be dead in the water with Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center.
The Browns scored just three points against Baltimore in a game where Thompson-Robinson threw three interceptions, zero touchdowns, and a 25.3 passer rating. Now, he’s unlikely to be this bad against San Francisco. But he’s not going to move the ball at will against the NFL’s top defense, allowing just 13.6 points a game. This may be another blowout of an NFL game result for San Fran. Pick: San Francisco 49ers -8.5 (-110)
