Will Dallas Get Back To .500 On The Road This Season?

The Cowboys vs Panthers Spread Should Favor Dallas Even More

The Carolina Panthers will welcome the Dallas Cowboys to Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.

While the Cowboys are coming off a 49-17 win over the Giants, the Panthers have lost four of their last five, including a roam tilt against the Chicago Bears.

Carolina has changed the offensive play-caller for a third time this season. Head coach Frank Reich started the season as the play-caller on offense. However, when things weren’t working, he gave offensive coordinator Thomas Brown the duties. The offense still struggled, so Frank Reich has taken back the play-calling for offense moving forward.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

This could be one of the main reasons Carolina is 1-8 with their starNope rookie quarterback struggling.

The Panthers are +10.5, with the total sitting at 41.5. However, the Over 41.5 is juiced -115 after the Cowboys added 49 points against the Giants last weekend.

Let’s review the Cowboys vs Panthers spreads for Sunday’s contest on FOX.

Cowboys vs Panthers Spreads

The Carolina Panthers have only covered one game this season. That game was against the Texans in late October, as 3.5-point underdogs. Carolina earned a 15-13 win and covered. But other than that, the Panthers have lost six games and have pushed two this season against the spread.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have watched the Under hit in six of nine games this season. But while the Panthers are 1-8, the one win straight up came at home. The Panthers will be home for this NFL matchup.

On the other hand, the Dallas Cowboys are 6-3 straight up and 6-3 against the spread this season. They’ve also nailed the Over in six of nine games this NFL season.

However, the Cowboys are under .500, sitting at 2-3, on the road this year. They even lost to the Arizona Cardinals earlier this season.

Still, the Cowboys earned a win against the Panthers the last time out on October 3, 2021, 36-28. Dallas was a 4.5-point favorite and covered in that game.

Leighton Vander Esch Is Done For The Season

One of the most exciting linebackers on the Cowboys, Leighton Vander Esch, is done for the season with a neck injury.

His season is absolutely over. But now some are questioning if his career is finished.

Vander Esch has had a significant history of neck issues since joining the league in 2018. Before he was drafted, there were concerns about how his neck would hold up coming out of Boise State.

The Cowboys took a chance on him and have yielded solid returns. But he already missed nine games in 2018 due to a neck injury and missed ten more games due to a broken collarbone, ankle, and neck injuries in 2020 and 2021.

Vander Esch made a name for himself in the league. I’m sure he’ll do what’s best for his body moving forward.

Another Play-Calling Shakeup

We’ve seen it too much in this league. Many young NFL players with a lot of potential struggle to make it in the league due to inconsistencies with coaching.

Maybe Bryce Young will never be elite. But as the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, he’s thought to have a lot of potential.

However, the Panthers continue to change play-calling duties and put Young in a bad spot.

Head coach Frank Reich started the season as the offensive play-caller. Because it didn’t work out early, Thomas Brown, the offensive coordinator, got the job to call the plays later in the season. But after a couple of tries, Reich took back the play-calling duties for the offense.

Brown didn’t see the move coming this week, but he understood it was possible if the offense struggled to put points on the board. Reich took back the offensive playbook after only 13 points against the Bears last weekend.

Is The Cowboys vs Panthers Spread Too Low?

The Cowboys just knocked the Giants out, 49-17. But now, against the league’s worst NFL team, the Cowboys are sitting at just -10.5.

Give us a break.

The Panthers haven’t scored more than 15 points in their last three games. The offense has struggled, no matter the play-caller. The team just isn’t designed to score points. The roster for Carolina isn’t good enough.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys have added four defensive touchdowns and have one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. The secondary is also very good.

On the other hand, Dak Prescott now has a legitimate connection with CeeDee Lamb. He’s also starting to develop chemistry with Brandin Cooks. That will go a long way for this Cowboys offense against a Panthers defense that has been below-average in almost every category this season.

The Cowboys are currently in the NFL playoffs per the NFC standings. But until you scroll all the way down, you won’t see the Panthers.

The NFL odds this week have a lot of potential blowouts. The Monday Night Football score between the Eagles and Chiefs won’t be. But this game will be.

Take a look at the Cowboys vs Panthers spreads and then click submit on the Cowboys -10.5.
