Best Blues vs Canucks Bets: Power Up with Vancouver

Canucks Have Been on Fire Playing at Home

The Best Bet Could Be With Vancouver’s Puck Line

The Vancouver Canucks have a good opportunity to extend their winning streak to five games at home. They host the St. Louis Blues who are coming from a game last night. St. Louis has not fared well playing without rest, and it will likely be backup goalie Joel Hofer in goal. Vancouver has won by 2+ goals in seven of its last nine home games, which brings us to our best Blues vs Canucks bet.

Buttress Your Bets With the Canucks

The surprisingly prolific Canucks have been the best bet on the NHL odds this season. Backers would be up over $1,120 if they placed a $100 wager on each Canucks game. This includes being up over $700 in home games. It’s not only because Vancouver has been money as an underdog: 12-9 (12-7-3) overall.

The Canucks are also 8-7 on the puck line in their last 15 games as a favorite. This means Vancouver bettors would be profitable if they kept betting on Vancouver to cover the -1.5 “spread.” And Vancouver does not appear to be slowing down as this team is 6-1 following a victory and 9-1 in its last 10 home games.

Look at the teams Vancouver has beaten at home: Toronto, Florida, and Tampa Bay, just to name a few. And they did this all by 2+ goals. J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson lead the NHL’s third-most potent home offense at 3.9 goals per game. The Canucks are 8-0-1 when both score a goal.

And in net, Thatcher Demko has been nigh-unbeatable. Despite Vancouver giving up over 30 shots a game, Demko has frozen opponents. He is 16-3-0 at home with a 93.2% save percentage. That’s why Vancouver’s NHL scoreboards tend to be lined with six goals or lower. However, this one here is juiced to go ‘over’ at -125.

The Canucks have been held to two goals in two of their last three home games. But the team has usually roared back, hence why the totals have gone over or pushed in 11 of their last 12 games after being held to just two goals or fewer.

Vancouver has been on fire. Ride it on the Blues vs Canucks bets.

St. Louis Get All Blue Without Rest

For all the pithy praise that NHL hockey teams are made up of macho athletes who play through torn ligaments and broken bones, they’re still human. Case in point: St. Louis is just 2-8 in its last 10 games playing without rest. All of its losses under these circumstances this season have come by two or more goals, including its previous visit to Vancouver: a 5-0 shellacking.

“We were ready to play,” Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes said. “They were on a back-to-back and came out a little slow. We just jumped on them. … I think we could clean up some stuff in the third. We got a little loose. For the most part, it was a good game.”

That’s why the Blues vs Canucks bets lean heavily toward Vancouver, even as a -230 favorite. The Canucks on the puck line are at +110.

Vancouver averages over 1.3 goals during the first period at home. This is the best mark in the NHL. Meanwhile, St. Louis gives up nearly 1.25 on the road. St. Louis is just 1-13 (1-12-1) when it gives up the first goal as a visitor. And it is just 1-10 when it trails after the first period.

The Blues are scoring just under 2.3 goals per road game. This won’t cut it against a potent team like the Canucks, especially when they have little-to-no NHL injuries on offense.

We love a good underdog. But St. Louis is not that team heading to Vancouver.
