Flyers Better Find Their Defense Quick

Wings Let Victory Sip Away At Dallas
It would be fair to say that the Detroit Red Wings outplayed the Dallas Stars for most of the night. The problem was the second period when the Stars scored four five-on-five goals to take a commanding lead into the final 20 where they just had to hang on, precisely what they did when the Wings scored twice to make it 5-4. Other than the middle 20, Detroit had the best of Dallas, outscoring the Stars 4-1.
The Red Wings were outshot 25-7 in the middle stanza but had the best of the Stars with a 27-13 shot advantage in the first and third periods. It isn’t all bad for Derek Lalonde’s team, who has managed to rack up points in all but two games in their last 10 games.
