Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella has been a key player for club and country in recent seasons. The Italian midfielder has been linked with a move away from Italy recently, with clubs from Germany and a number from England inquiring about the player.
He has said that he bleeds blue and black (the Inter Milan colors) and has zero interest in leaving the club. However, Inter Milan is in a potential financial crisis and will need to sell players on for FFP (Financial Fair Play) reasons.
Despite the interest in the Italian magician, Inter Milan’s ‘ultras’ have warned the club not to sell ‘untouchable’ Nicolo Barella this summer. The stern message comes amid multiple Premier League transfer interest in the highly-rated 26-year-old.
Nicolo Barella featured in the Champions League final against Manchester City, played in 35 Serie A matches this season, and played in the European Championship final at Wembley back in 2021.
Inter have batted away interest recently, and the club’s diehard fanbase has clarified their feelings. The Nerazzurri ultras posted a picture of Barella on Instagram this week, captioning the post: “Interista born, present and future. Untouchable.”
That does change the fact that there is plenty of interest in the player and potentially the need to sell on Inter Milan’s part. Four clubs have inquired, with three coming from the Premier League.

There has been a newer rumor that Newcastle want to up their bud again and go for Barella again. They see him as integral to their Premier League and Champions League campaigns. The summer transfer window just opened, so we’ll see how this plays out.

Towards the end of June, there were multiple reports that Liverpool boss Juergen Klopp had publicly stated his admiration for Barella. If given the okay, Liverpool are prepared to submit a massive $80 million bid for the Italian. It’s expected that Inter will accept, but it would be up to Barella to take Liverpool’s offer.
Barella would perfectly fit a Klopp midfield trio as they battle for a top-four spot. Liverpool has the best odds of being Nicolo Barella’s next club, but it’s all just rumors until we have a concrete offer.
Stay at Inter Milan (+200)
The most likely scenario in the saga of Nicolo Barella’s next club is him staying at Inter. Inter is his boyhood club, and he would never dream of leaving, especially when they contend for the Scudetto every season. He is a club captain and could lead this team to even greater things in the future.
He’s expected to receive a contract extension, but money has never been an issue with Nicolo Barella. He wants Inter Milan. Of course, you can never rule out a move, but we can expect Inter to be Nicolo Barella’s next club.
