JUV Juventus vs AS Roma ROM

Day/Time:
Location: Allianz Stadium, Turin, Italy

Head-to-Head

This is the first soccer betting opportunity on this fixture in the 2023-24 season. Last season, Juventus were winless vs Roma. In August 2022, Dusan Vlahovic got on the scoresheet for Juventus just a couple of minutes in, but Tammy Abraham equalized as the match finished all square at one.

In the reverse fixture, Gianluca Mancini scored the game’s only goal as Roma got their first win over Juve for nearly three years. Juventus have lost just two of the last nine meetings, in all competitions.

Yildiz Scores on Full Juventus Debut

Just 12 minutes into his first-ever Serie A start, Kenan Yildiz became Juventus’ youngest-ever goalscorer. The Turkish teenager weaved in and out of three Frosinone defenders and finished at the near post to give Juve the lead.

It was a dream full debut for Yildiz and he provides another option for Max Allegri up front. Frosinone ended up getting an equalizer early in the second half but substitute Dusan Vlahovic scored the winner for Juventus by heading in a Weston McKennie cross Juventus vs AS Roma odds

Juventus are firmly in second place in the Serie A standings . They’re four points behind leaders Inter Milan and seven points ahead of third-placed AC Milan at the moment.

They’ve conceded just 11 times in 17 matches and Wojciech Szczesny has consistently made big saves in the Juventus goal. Juve are not involved in European competition this season and they’ll pour all of their energy into gunning for Inter’s top spot.

Allegri has a few injuries to contend with for Friday’s match vs AS Roma, though. Manuel Locatelli, Alex Sandro, Mattia De Sciglio and Moise Kean could all miss this one. Meanwhile, a slight knee injury forced Federico Chiesa out of Juve’s last match vs Frosinone. He could be in contention to play in this one but his status is worth keeping an eye on.

Roma Take Down the Champions

Roma managed to grab an important win over Scudetto holders Napoli in their last Serie A match. The Giallorossi got off to a relatively slow start to the season but they’ve now won three of their last five Serie A games.

Jose Mourinho’s side took full advantage of Napoli going down to ten men in the second half of last Saturday’s match. Following Matteo Politano’s red card, Lorenzo Pellegrini put Roma ahead on an acrobatic shot.

The Partenopei later went down to nine men and Romelu Lukaku sealed the Roma victory with a stoppage time goal.

Following the 2-0 win, Roma jumped ahead of Napoli and Atalanta in the Serie A 2023-24 table and are in sixth place. The Giallorossi are just three points outside of the top four but their road form has been a cause for concern.

Roma have won just two of their eight Serie A road matches this season but did manage to pick up all three points at Sassuolo earlier this month.

It was unclear how Lukaku would fare on loan but the Belgian striker has managed eight Serie A goals thus far. He’s Roma’s leading scorer, while Paulo Dybala has provided six assists and scored four goals of his own.

However, the Argentine is out with a thigh injury, while Houssem Aouar, Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham are also sidelined.

Match Analysis & Odds

Anything can happen on Saturday, as the Juventus vs AS Roma odds give hosts Juve less than an implied 50 percent chance to win. Juventus come in at +105 moneyline and ATS odds as they look to remain unbeaten at home this season.

After his goal on his first Juventus start, it’ll to be interesting to see whether Kenan Yildiz gets another nod here.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho and Roma know how important this match is for them. They have the opportunity to play spoiler and the Giallorossi are +300 underdogs for this one. They’re just 2-2-4 on the road in Serie A so far, though.

Bettors might consider AS Roma +0.5 at -125 odds here. A draw also displays +210 odds as this fixture finished all square last season.

Paulo Dybala’s absence could hurt Roma here as the Argentine is adept at linking up play between the midfield and front line. Expect Lukaku to play a key role here for Mourinho occupying Juve’s center backs.

Goals are expected to come at a premium, as under two goals are priced at -120.
