Eintracht Frankfurt Stats & History
Two clubs created in 1899 are the predecessors of Eintracht Frankfurt. Those clubs are Frankfurter Fußball-Club Viktoria von 1899 and Frankfurter Fußball-Club Kickers von 1899. The clubs merged in 1911 and were called Frankfurter Fußball Verein (Kickers-Victoria). Eintracht means harmony in German, so it’s the equivalent of calling a club “United”.
In their early years, Frankfurt had success in local and regional competitions. They first reached the German national final in 1932 but lost to Bayern Munich. Eintracht Frankfurt won their division in the Gauliga in 1938. The first and only German title win in the Eintracht Frankfurt team stats was in 1959. They reached the final of the European Cup in 1960 but fell in a 7-3 goal fest to Real Madrid in front of over 125,000 fans.
Frankfurt became one of the original 16 teams to play in the first season of the Bundesliga in 1963. In 1967 they won the UEFA Intertoto Cup by beating Inter Bratislava 4-3 on aggregate. It was the first European trophy win in the Eintracht Frankfurt stats.

Eintracht Frankfurt Team Records
They were frequently a top-half Bundesliga team in the 70s. Although they weren’t able to win a title in the decade, they won two DFB-Pokals. Eintracht Frankfurt’s first two DFB-Pokal wins were back-to-back in 1974 and 1975. In 1980, Frankfurt won the UEFA Cup over fellow German side Borussia Monchengladbach. One year later, they won their third DFB-Pokal trophy.
Despite fighting off relegation on multiple occasions in the 80s, they just about managed to stay in the Bundesliga. Plus, they added another DFB-Pokal title in 1988. The closest Eintracht have come to winning a Bundesliga championship was in 1991-92. They finished in third, just two points behind champions Stuttgart.
After 34 years in the Bundesliga, they went down to the second tier in 1997. Frankfurt’s most recent spell in the Bundesliga began in 2012 and it has been a successful one. They won the DFB-Pokal for the fifth time in 2018 and won the 2022 Europa League. With their Europa League triumph, over Rangers, Eintracht Frankfurt are playing in the Champions League in 2022-23.
The Bundesliga odds price Frankfurt as the joint-fifth most likely team to win the title in 2022-23. They are still a longshot, though, at +10000 odds. Betting advice frequently mentions their inconsistency. They won just four Bundesliga games at home in 2021-22.
