Sergio Ramos One-Ups Navas By Finding a Team First

Sergio Ramos Returns to Sevilla While Navas Is Loaned to Nottingham Forest

Former Spain defender Sergio Ramos has returned to his boyhood club, Sevilla, after an astounding 18 years since leaving for Real Madrid. Ramos, now 37, has signed a one-year deal with Sevilla, rekindling his connection with the club where he started his football journey in La Liga teams.

The Spanish center-back had rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia, since he didn’t want to end his career without having the opportunity to make it with his Andalusian club. This move holds sentimental value, since Ramos grew up in Sevilla, joining the club’s academy at just seven years of age.

“Fate has given it to me. I return home 18 years later. It was not only a debt I owed to myself but also to my family, to my grandfather, who made me a Sevillista since I was a little boy, to my father and to Puerta” Ramos explained.

Ramos’s Heck of a Career

After he left Sevilla the first time, he joined Real Madrid. Afterwards, he went on to join PSG when his contract with Real Madrid expired in 2021, spent two seasons there pushing the PSG stats, and won successive league titles. Later on, after having boosted their Ligue 1 standings, he left Paris St-Germain on a free transfer, and now, the 37-year-old has gone all the way around and signed a one-year deal with Sevilla.

Ramos’s career includes a World Cup victory and two European Championships with Spain, along with four Champions League trophies during his time with Real Madrid pushing the La Liga stats.

Mbappe’s Close Friendship With Ramos

Kylian Mbappe, who shared a strong bond with Ramos during their time together at PSG, expressed his affection for the former Real Madrid captain. He posted on his social media accounts, “Good luck, my friend. The king is back,” highlighting the close friendship between the two players. Sergio Ramos returns to Sevilla, and that leaves Mbappe short of one strong supporter in the dressing room.

Meanwhile, Keylor…

While Sergio Ramos returns to Sevilla, Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas bids farewell to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and embarks on a new transfer loan adventure with Nottingham Forest; both clubs have come to a mutual agreement.

Navas’s departure from PSG comes tainted with dissatisfaction regarding the limited playing time he received under manager Cristophe Galtier in the Ligue 1 schedule. The emergence of Gigi Donnarumma as PSG’s primary goalkeeper further reduced Navas’s chances on the pitch. Despite playing 108 competitive matches for the French club, and not having conceded a single goal in 50 games, he was not kept as the primary goalkeeper. Navas’s departure leaves a real void among his teammates.

Hilarious But Heartfelt Farewell from Ramos

Sergio Ramos, Navas’s long-time teammate at Real Madrid and PSG, bid an emotional and even hilarious farewell to his friend. Amidst kisses and hugs, caught in a video, Ramos also shared a heartwarming message: “Football is as wonderful as the people it puts on your path. My friend, brother, you opened the doors of your home to make us feel welcome, you accompanied us at all times and together we have continued to build special memories… With there still more to come! All the best in this new stage. We’ll miss you dearly, but we’ll always be close. All the best, Mae!”

Sergio Ramos returns to Sevilla and Keylor Navas moves to Nottingham Forest… these events mark especially significant changes in the football landscape, leaving fans to nail-bite and anticipate what’s to come next.
