Overview of the Colgate Raiders Standings

Last-Season Standings

The Colgate Raiders Standings had an exciting 2021-2022 season, full of highs and lows. The team kicked off the season with high hopes, coming off a successful 2020-2021 campaign in which they won the Patriot League championship.

The Raiders got off to a bit of a slow start, dropping their first two games of the season against Syracuse and North Carolina State. However, they quickly rebounded with a four-game winning streak, including victories over Binghamton, Drexel, Columbia, and Lehigh.

The team’s success in those early games was largely due to the impressive play of senior guard Jordan Burns. Burns was the Raiders’ leading scorer, averaging 19.2 points per game and shooting an impressive 44.3% from three-point range.

As the season progressed, the Raiders faced some tough competition in the Patriot League, including conference powerhouses like Boston University and Army. Despite some close losses, the team continued to play hard and improve, finishing the regular season with a record of 15-12 overall and 7-7 in conference play.

The Raiders’ performance throughout the season earned them a spot in the Patriot League tournament, where they faced off against American University in the first round. In a thrilling game that came down to the wire, the Raiders came out on top, thanks in large part to the heroic play of Jordan Burns, who scored 24 points and hit several clutch shots down the stretch.

The team’s success in the Patriot League tournament continued in the semifinals, where they faced off against Lafayette. Once again, Jordan Burns led the way for the Raiders, scoring 22 points and dishing out 6 assists in a convincing 85-74 victory.

In the Patriot League championship game, the Raiders faced off against Bucknell in what was a back-and-forth battle from start to finish. Unfortunately for Colgate, they came up just short in the end, falling to the Bison by a score of 84-78. Despite the loss, the Raiders put up a valiant effort, with Jordan Burns leading the team once again with 23 points and 4 assists.

Overall, the 2021-2022 season was a successful one for the Colgate Raiders standings, despite falling just short of their ultimate goal of winning the Patriot League championship. The team’s success was largely due to the outstanding play of Jordan Burns, who was named the Patriot League Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. With Burns graduating, the Raiders will look to build on their success in the coming years and continue to compete at a high level in the Patriot League.

Before Betting on Colgate Raiders, Check Out These Tips:

Analyze the Team’s Current Form:

Before placing any bets on the Colgate Raiders, it’s important to analyze their current form. Look at their recent performances and try to identify any patterns in their gameplay. Take note of their strengths and weaknesses, as well as the performance of key players.

Check the Team’s Schedule:

Look at the team’s schedule and see if they have any upcoming games that may impact their performance. Take into account the travel time, the level of competition, and the location of the game.

Research the Team’s Opponent:

Analyzing the team’s opponent is just as important as analyzing the Colgate Raiders themselves. Research the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and see how they match up against the Raiders. Also, consider the head-to-head record between the two teams.

Manage your Bankroll:

Like with any type of sports betting, managing your bankroll is crucial. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it. Don’t bet more than you can afford to lose, and avoid chasing losses. It’s also a good idea to spread your bets across different games and not to put all your money on one game.

Colgate Raiders Basketball History

The Colgate Raiders are a Division I team based in Hamilton, N.Y. Colgate currently competes in the Patriot League and is coached by Matt Lengel.

Colgate swept the Patriot League regular season and tournament titles in 2022, winning over 20 games for the third time in program history. The Raiders returned to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and fell in the first round to third-seeded Wisconsin, 67-60.

The Raiders are 0-5 in the tournament, having also lost in the first round in 1995, 1996, 2019, and 2021.
Colgate’s postseason history also includes an appearance in the 2018 College Basketball Invitational, where it lost the opener to San Francisco.

Langel, a former assistant at Penn and Temple, has been at the helm for 11 seasons. He has amassed a 186-172 record (.520) record and was named the league’s top coach for three straight seasons from 2018-20.

In 2019-20, Langel guided the Raiders to a school-record 25 wins and the Patriot League regular season title. The Raiders, however, never got an opportunity to build on that success, as the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, many projections had Colgate making the field of 68. NCAA.com’s Andy Katz, for example, had Colgate as a No. 15 seed.

Notable alumni include Ernie Vandeweghe and Adonal Foyle. Foyle, a former All-American who holds the school record for career rebounds (1,103), blocks (492) and minutes per game (36.5) was taken eighth overall in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He’s one of five Raiders to have his number retired, along with Vandeweghe, Bob Duffy, Mike Ferrara and Tucker Neale, the program’s all-time leading scorer (2,075).

Colgate was a favorite among oddsmakers entering the 2022-23 season, as the Raiders were picked first in the Patriot League preseason poll. Senior Tucker Richardson was named Preseason Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the league.
