Stuttgart Can Clinch First UCL Berth Since 2009 vs Bayern

Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich Lines Considering Bayern’s Next Match

Bayern Looking Forward to UCL Semifinal

Bayern Munich have already clinched a spot in next season’s Champions League. With not too much to play for in the Bundesliga, having missed out on the title, they’ll be looking ahead to next week’s Champions League Semifinal second leg at Real Madrid.

Bayern head to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday and the hosts have a ton of motivation. If Stuttgart manages to win this match, they’ll clinch a Champions League berth for the first time in 15 years. The Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich lines are certainly considering that and Bayern’s circumstance. As Stuttgart are +110 favorites, we’ll take a closer look at the odds later on.

Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich: Head-to-Head

Stuttgart hasn’t won any of the last nine Bundesliga fixtures between these two teams. The Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich lines listed Bayern as -235 favorites for this season’s reverse fixture. Bayern won 3-0 back in December as Harry Kane scored twice. Although Stuttgart have struggled in this fixture lately, they’ve drawn two of the last four meetings. Bayern last lost on the road at Stuttgart all the way back in 2007.

Stuttgart Minute Away From Defeating Champions

Stuttgart was less than a minute away from handing Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen their first loss of the season last Saturday. Die Roten was even up 2-0 at one point as Chris Fuhrich and Deniz Undav got on the scoresheet. Leverkusen’s Amine Adli got a goal back in the 61st minute and Robert Andrich preserved their unbeaten streak in the 96th minute. It was a disappointing end to the match for Stuttgart but they’ve proven they can compete with anyone in the Bundesliga.

Currently, Stuttgart are in third place in the Bundesliga standings and their aim is to finish in the top four. Stuttgart is seven points ahead of fifth-placed Dortmund, which means a Stuttgart win this weekend is enough to seal a top four finish. Die Roten is 11-3-1 at home this season and last lost at MHPArena in the Bundesliga back in October. However, two Stuttgart regulars are suspended for this match.

Defender Max Mittelstädt and talented midfielder Enzo Millot are out due to yellow card accumulation. Two other defenders could miss this one as well. Jonas Vagnoman is still working his way back from an ankle injury, while Dan-Axel Zagadou is out. Serhou Guirassy hasn’t found the net in each of Stuttgart’s last two but he ranks second in the Bundesliga, with 25 goals.

Bayern Draw vs Real Madrid on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Bayern Munich missed an opportunity to head to Madrid with a lead next week. While the Bavarians fell behind 1-0 in the first half of the Champions League Semifinal first leg vs. Real Madrid, they played with renewed vigor in the second half. Leroy Sane scored an excellent solo goal to equalize, while Harry Kane converted a penalty minutes later.

Bayern looked relatively comfortable with a 2-1 lead but were prone to counter attacks. Bayern defender Kim Min-jae started with Matthijs de Ligt out and he conceded a penalty. Vinicius Junior scored for the second time on the night and the match finished 2-2.

The result ended Bayern’s four game winning streak, in all competitions, but they’ve been playing better football recently. Last weekend, Harry Kane scored twice in a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. Kane needs six goals in three games to equal Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a Bundesliga season.

One win from their last three matches would also give Bayern more points than in last season’s title winning campaign. While Bayern showed -400 odds to win the Bundesliga at the beginning of the season, the highest they can finish is in second place. Leverkusen broke Bayern’s 11 season title streak and Bayern Munich will undoubtedly retool in the Summer. De Ligt, Sacha Boey, and Kingsley Coman all figure to miss Saturday’s match.

Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich Analysis & Odds

Bayern Munich’s full focus is on the Champions League next week. That doesn’t mean this game is unimportant but Thomas Tuchel won’t want to take any unnecessary risks here. Stuttgart haven’t won either of their last two games. If they fail to win here, it’d mark the first time they go three games without a victory all season.

Right now, the Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich lines price hosts Stuttgart as +110 favorites. Bettors can back Stuttgart pk, -0.5 at -120 odds, or Bayern pk, +0.5 at even odds. Bayern are 9-2-4 on the road in the Bundesliga and they’re +215 underdogs here.

While there isn’t a strong impetus for Bayern to win this match, Kane is chasing Lewandowski’s record. He’ll be extra motivated to get on the scoresheet. A draw comes in at +305 odds, while over 3, 3.5 goals is priced at -125 odds in a match where defenders are out on both sides.
