Early-Bird Academy Awards Odds
The 2024 awards will be held in March, but it’s never too early to see if the odds offer value now.
There are various early-bird Academy Awards odds betting opportunities to wager on next year’s Academy Award winner. Some of the movies with the best odds have already been released, but films like odds on favorite Killer of the Flower Moon (+400) won’t open in theatres until October. We’ll discuss who has a real shot of taking home the hardware, in addition to a couple of prop bets that will keep you watching the show until the end.
Asteroid City, Oppenheimer Get Early-Bird Awards Odds Wagers
What’s interesting about Asteroid City and Oppenheimer is that the trailers for both films left movie-goers wondering what did they just witnessed. Asteroid City was destined to get some attention considering the plethora of stars involved everyone from Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson to Steve Carell and Edward Norton to scratch the surface.
To date, it has grossed just 38 million worldwide making it a major flop but that next moved the Academy to shy away. Hurting the film was a trailer that left the public with their thumbs down. The movie started out as the 14th choice to win ‘Best Picture’, but bettors have boosted it up to 7th, tied with The Color Purple (+800). Oppenheimer (Emily Blunt, Matt Damon) is getting some early-bird Academy Awards for Best Picture odds love too.
It’s another movie whose early trailer didn’t conjure up interest. The film’s opening date has been in question, many thought Universal Studios would wait until December to give it more of a ‘Best Picture’ boost. The trailer was changed and it was announced that its release date would be July 21st, 2023.
Oppenheimer is +600 according among early-bird Academy Awards odds, that’s down from an opening number of +1100. Blitz produced by Steve McQueen, is an Apple TV production and the early favorite to win ‘Best Picture’ at +500. There isn’t a release date but we figure early 2024 will be the date. Bet On Big Names When Best Actor / Actress Odds Are Released
The Academy Award odds for best actor and Actress are not out yet but when they are you can bet the biggest stars will take home the hardware, We have a few names that we know will be nominated for Oscars starting with Bradley Cooper who is -2000 to be nominated for an Academy Award for best actor.
Cooper has never won the award despite being nominated nine times. The voice of Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy stars in the upcoming film Maestro scheduled to be released later this year on Netflix. Leonardo Dicaprio (-2000) and Joaquin Phoenix (-240) are also likely to be nominated along with Timothee Chalamet (-190).
It’s still too early to put a number on who will the Academy Award for best actress but anticipate odds for the nominees in the next few months.
