EPL: Manchester City vs Fulham Odds

City Aiming to Stay Perfect

Resilient Fulham Gets Result at Arsenal

Three-time defending Premier League champions Manchester City have started the season at 3-0. They may be missing Kevin de Bruyne but they’re having no problem scoring goals. On Saturday, the Cityzens will welcome Fulham to Manchester. Fulham, despite going down a man, equalized vs Arsenal last Saturday and managed to come away from the Emirates with a draw. Let’s see if they can build on that momentum as we preview the Manchester City vs Fulham odds and match.

MCI Manchester City vs Fulham FUL

Day/Time:
Location: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, England

Head-to-Head:

Manchester City have won their last 14 matches vs. Fulham in all competitions. Fulham did manage to register a goal in the EPL stats in both meetings last season, though. Both 2022-23 matches were close, as Manchester City won 2-1 in each. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez got on the scoresheet for City in both matches. Notably, Fulham’s last win at the Etihad Stadium was in 2009.

City Grind Out Another Result

Manchester City had a trip to newly promoted Sheffield United on their EPL schedule on Sunday. The defending champions had a ton of chances in the match but found it difficult to blow away the Blades. Erling Haaland hit the post on a penalty in the first half but made up for it by finishing off a Jack Grealish cross.

Sheffield United equalized with just five minutes to play, which set up a frantic last few minutes. Rodri scored another big goal for the Cityzens as he sent an unstoppable shot into the back of the net in the 88th minute. In a match where Man City were two-goal favorites, they ground out a 2-1 win to remain perfect in the EPL.

In their previous match, City managed to beat Newcastle 1-0 at the Eithad. As they return home for Saturday’s game, the Manchester City vs Fulham odds price City as big favorites. New signing Jeremy Doku could make his debut here and City are hoping to wrap up a transfer for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes by the end of the week. Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones are out for this match, while Manuel Akanji is questionable after missing the match vs Sheffield United.

Fulham’s Gutsy Performance vs Arsenal

Fulham’s start to their match vs Arsenal at the Emirates couldn’t have gone better. Bukayo Saka played an errant back pass that Andreas Pereira pounced on and the midfielder sent a shot past the out-of-position Aaron Ramsdale into the back of the net. However, scoring a first-minute goal vs. Arsenal means absorbing a whole lot of pressure for the rest of the match.

For the most part, Fulham defended well but Arsenal finally managed to win a penalty in the 70th minute. Bukayo Saka made up for his error by slotting home and Eddie Nketiah gave Arsenal a lead two minutes later. When Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, who was making his first EPL start for the club, picked up his second yellow card, it looked unlikely Fulham would get back into the match.

However, Joao Palhinha’s first-time finish off a corner equalized the score at two and Adama Traore even had a chance to give Fulham the win. After the 2-2 draw vs. Arsenal, Fulham are in 12th place in the EPL standings.

While Man City don’t have a match midweek, Fulham host Tottenham in the EFL Cup second round on Tuesday. Bassey will serve his suspension on Tuesday, which means both he and Tim Ream can return for the match vs. Manchester City. Meanwhile, winger Willian is questionable for Saturday’s match.

Match Analysis & Odds

As the last perfect team remaining in the Premier League, a lot of eyes will be on Manchester City for their last match before the international break. While they’re certainly a more talented team than Fulham, the Cottagers are unbeaten on the road so far and have played Man City close recently. Still, the Manchester City vs Fulham odds list City as a massive -590 moneyline favorite.

Fulham have scored just twice in their last seven Premier League matches vs Man City and their Asian handicap is +2, +2.5. They do come in at -125 odds to cover, while Man City -2, -2.5 displays +105 odds. Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez will try to extend their scoring streak vs Fulham to three games here. Haaland has scored three goals in three EPL games so far this season.
