West Ham vs Liverpool Head-to-Head

West Ham and Liverpool last met in the EFL Cup Quarter-Final last December. There, Liverpool picked up a 5-1 victory vs. a hapless Hammers side as Curtis Jones scored twice. Liverpool have won each of the last five meetings, in all competitions. Both teams have also scored in each of the last three matchups. West Ham vs Liverpool betting tips may take into account the fact that Mo Salah has 11 career goals vs. West Ham. The Hammers have only won one of their last 15 Premier League fixtures vs. Liverpool.

West Ham Ship Five to Palace

Exhausted from their attempted comeback during the week vs. Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham fell behind 4-0 in the Premier League vs. Crystal Palace on Sunday. Michail Antonio scored a 40th-minute consolation goal and Palace keeper Dean Henderson scored an own goal in the 89th. Still, West Ham lost 5-2 in South London and they’ve lost three of their last five Premier League matches.

While their recent EPL scores have been disappointing, West Ham’s effort vs. Leverkusen in the Europa League was a valiant one. Antonio got on the scoresheet 13 minutes in and West Ham looked like they had a chance to overturn the 2-0 first-leg deficit. West Ham were minutes away from handing German champions Leverkusen their first loss of the season. However, Jeremie Frimpong equalized on the night and Leverkusen advanced to the Semifinal with a 3-1 aggregate win.

West Ham have conceded in each of their last eight matches, in all competitions. They’ve looked defensively shaky all season and only three EPL teams have conceded more than the Hammers. Currently, defenders Dinos Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd are listed as doubtful, along with leading scorer Jarrod Bowen.

Liverpool Running Out of Steam

On Wednesday, Liverpool lost to Everton at Goodison Park for the first time since 2010. They’re in second place in the EPL standings, three points behind leaders Arsenal with four games to play. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher seems to think his former club’s title hopes are over. They’re only one point ahead of Manchester City but City have two games in hand.

Jurgen Klopp is famously stepping down at the end of the season and he looked like a defeated man on the sidelines on Wednesday. Klopp cited his waning energy as one of his reasons for departing and it seems like his players have also run out of energy. In just a few weeks, Liverpool have dropped out of the Europa League and they show just +2800 odds to win the EPL title.

Heading into this match, Liverpool have won just one of their last four Premier League matches. They’ve been incredibly wasteful in front of goal and missed Diogo Jota on Wednesday, who was a late scratch. The forward will also miss out here, along with Conor Bradley, Thiago, and Joel Matip.

West Ham vs Liverpool Match Analysis & Odds

Since a scoreless draw vs. Brighton in their first match of 2024, West Ham have failed to keep a shutout in their last 14 Premier League games. Meanwhile, Liverpool haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven matches in the EPL. Liverpool’s defending on set pieces on Wednesday was simply disgraceful and Everton took full advantage.

West Ham’s James Ward-Prowse is known for his free kicks and corner deliveries and Liverpool need to be wary. Liverpool opened up as -190 favorites and they’re now at -185 moneyline odds. A draw comes in at +390 odds. The Hammers have won just two of their last 11 matches and are +420 underdogs for this one.  West Ham vs Liverpool betting Tips

West Ham +1 shows even odds, while Liverpool -1 is priced at -120. Under 3.5 goals come in at -120 odds but neither team has been defensively sound lately. The first of our West Ham vs Liverpool betting tips is to pay attention to Michail Antonio.

Antonio has scored in each of West Ham’s last two matches and sits at +375 odds to be an anytime goalscorer. It looked like Liverpool’s confidence was shot on Wednesday and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them struggle here either. Both Teams to Score and West Ham to win are priced at +750 odds and that could be worth a few dollar flier here.
