The Cityzens are also a perfect 4-0 in the Champions League and enter Sunday’s match at Chelsea on a five-game winning streak, in all competitions. Chelsea and Manchester City met four times last season, in all competitions. Man City went 4-0 in those matches and outscored Chelsea 8-0. Riyad Mahrez scored four times vs. Chelsea last season, and Julian Alvarez added three goals. Mahrez, who was one of the best EPL players, left for Al-Ahli over the Summer. Regardless, City has won the last six meetings in all competitions and kept clean sheets in each one.
Chelsea End Tottenham’s Unbeaten Run
Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure as Chelsea coach has gotten off to an uneven start, which was always to be expected. Under Todd Boehly’s ownership, Chelsea have spent over $1 billion on players and have almost completely overhauled the squad. Currently, the Blues are 4-3-4 and are in 10th place in the Premier League table. Chelsea got a critical 4-1 win over Tottenham on Monday and have now won three of their last five EPL games.
Tottenham went down to nine men in the match, and Nicolas Jackson scored his first Chelsea hat trick. His finishing has come under fire by pundits and Chelsea fans alike, but this could be the moment that gets the Senegalese striker’s Premier League career going. Tottenham were unbeaten in their first ten games, but Chelsea ended their streak. While the Blues have a respectable 3-1-1 road record this season, they’re only 1-2-3 at Stamford Bridge so far.
Most Chelsea vs Man City match predictions aren’t giving the hosts much chance, but their improvement is palpable. Currently, the Blues are still dealing with a bunch of injuries to some key players. The Belgian international became the youngest player in Premier League history to reach five goal involvements in one match. Phil Foden has scored in three straight games for Man City, and City has scored at least three goals in their last four matches, in all competitions. With a 9-2 record, City are on top of the EPL table and the Premier League odds price them as -265 favorites to win the league for a fourth straight season.
Haaland may have missed out on winning the Ballon d’Or, but there’s no doubt that the striker is one of the most productive players in Europe. He leads the EPL with 11 goals and aggressively looks to get on the scoresheet in every single match. Of Man City’s key players, only Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones are out injured for this one.

Chelsea haven’t beaten Manchester City since the 2021 Champions League final. In fact, Kai Havertz’s goal in that match was the last time they managed to get on the scoresheet vs. the Cityzens. Since then, instability has plagued Chelsea but they do seem to be turning a corner. The Blues will need no added motivation for this one, as they take on the three-time defending champions.
