UEL Quarterfinals Betting Odds: Leg 1

First Leg Fixtures on Thursday

Manchester United Enter as Outright Favorites

The Europa League Quarterfinals get underway on Thursday as all of the first leg matchups will be played this week. Heading into the last eight, Manchester United are the favorites to win the tournament, at +125 odds. Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils take on Sevilla in the Quarterfinals and host them at Old Trafford for the first leg. In the round of 16, Sporting pulled off an upset vs. Premier League leaders Arsenal and will now look to do the same vs. Juventus. The other two matchups are Feyenoord vs. AS Roma and Bayer Leverkusen vs. Union Saint-Gilloise. We’ll take a look at all of the major UEL Quarterfinals odds in this week’s preview.

UEL Quarterfinals Matches

FEY Feyenoord vs AS Roma ROM

Date, time:

Feyenoord and AS Roma met in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League final last season. Nicolo Zaniolo scored the game’s only goal as Jose Mourinho’s Roma lifted the trophy. Now, they’ll meet on Thursday for the first leg of the Europa League Quarterfinals. Feyenoord have had an excellent season and are on pace to win the Eredivisie. Meanwhile, Roma have re-entered Serie A’s top four and Mourinho’s teams are notoriously difficult to beat in knockout competitions.

With Feyenoord as hosts for the first leg, the Europa League betting odds price the home side as -125 ATS and moneyline favorites. Still, Roma are favored to advance to the semifinals, at -150 odds. Feyenoord have lost just one match at home this season and are on a 24-match scoring streak, in all competitions. With that in mind, over two goals come in at -140 odds for the match.

The Dutch side destroyed Shakhtar Donetsk 7-1 in the home leg of their round of 16 matchup and are quite dangerous. Eight different Feyenoord players have scored five or more goals this season and Mexican forward Santiago Gimenez leads the team, with 18 goals.

AS Roma have conceded fewer than a goal per game this season and shut out Real Sociedad over two legs in the round of 16. Roma +0.5 shows -155 odds but they’re +240 road underdogs for Thursday’s match. They did pick up a 1-0 road win over Torino over the weekend but it was their first away win in their last seven tries.

Mourinho would most likely be happy to head back to the Stadio Olimpico with a draw and one sits at +215 odds. While Zaniolo is no longer with the team, Mourinho can call on Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham in forward areas.

Juventus vs Sporting

Date, time:

Juventus were poor in the Champions League group stage but have picked things up recently. If not for a 15-point deduction the Bianconeri would be in second place in Serie A. They also managed to knock both Nantes and SC Freiburg out of the Europa League.

Now, Juventus clash with a tricky Sporting side in the UEL Quarterfinals. Sporting outlasted Arsenal on penalties and have been in excellent form recently. The Lisbon side are unbeaten in their last 11 matches, in all competitions.

Regardless, the UEL Quarterfinals odds price hosts Juventus as -120 ATS and moneyline favorites. Juve are also -200 favorites to advance following next Thursday’s second leg. One concern for Juventus is that star striker Dusan Vlahovic picked up an ankle injury in the recent 2-1 loss to Lazio.

The injury isn’t feared to be serious but his status is worth monitoring ahead of Thursday’s match. Arkadiusz Milik should start up top if Vlahovic can’t play. Sporting showed a lot of character to knock out Arsenal with both Sebastian Coates and Hidemasa Morita suspended.

Sporting have four players who have scored 10 or more goals this season, in Pedro Goncalves, Francisco Trincao, Marcus Edwards and Paulinho. The +370 moneyline underdogs should not be underestimated and Sporting +0.5 also comes in at -110 odds.

A draw currently displays +235 odds for Thursday’s match. Although Sporting have some dangerous attacking players, Juventus have kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Europa League. Still, over two goals are priced at -130 odds for the match.

MUN Manchester United vs Sevilla SFC

Date, time:

Manchester United may be out of the Premier League title race but they’re still in the running to win three trophies this season. The Red Devils have already won the EFL Cup and are also in the FA Cup Semifinals, where they’ll head to Brighton.

In the Europa League playoff round, Man United pulled off a massive upset over Barcelona. Then, they defeated Real Betis 5-1 over two legs. The favorites to win the competition will now host Sevilla, who Manchester United have never defeated in European competition.

These teams last met in the 2020 Europa League semifinals, which was only contested as one leg due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sevilla won 2-1 and also knocked out Manchester United in the 2018 Champions League round of 16. Regardless, in this matchup between two strong UEFA Europa League Teams, Manchester United are 1.5-goal favorites.

United come in at +110 odds to cover and -250 odds to win. Ten Hag’s side haven’t lost at home since September so winning at Old Trafford figures to be an uphill battle for Sevilla.

Sevilla have struggled domestically this season and are in just 13th place in La Liga. They have managed to knock out PSV and Fenerbahce out of the Europa League, though. Sevilla have also historically punched above their weight in this competition, with six titles.

Currently, Sevilla +1.5 comes in at -140 and Sevilla’s moneyline odds are +650. While Christian Eriksen just returned from a long-term ankle injury, United leading scorer Marcus Rashford is questionable with a muscle injury. Even with Rashford potentially out, over 2.5 goals display -140 odds. A draw is also priced at +380 odds for Thursday’s first leg.

Bayern Leverkusen vs Union Saint-Gilloise

Date, time:

Bayer Leverkusen have been one of the hottest teams in Europe over the last month. Xabi Alonso’s team has managed to pull off seven straight wins, in all competitions. That includes recent wins over Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt.

During that run, Leverkusen have also scored at least two goals in each match. Union Saint-Gilloise have already knocked out Bundesliga side Union Berlin from this competition and will be hoping to put an end to Leverkusen’s run. USG are in the running for the Belgian Pro League title but are the Cinderella story of the Europa League. They have the longest outright odds of any team remaining, at +2000.

The latest UEL Quarterfinals odds price streaking Bayer Leverkusen as one-goal favorites for Thursday’s match. Leverkusen -1 comes in at -105 odds, while the hosts also show -170 odds to win the match. USG are on a seven-match unbeaten run of their own but are +440 moneyline underdogs and a draw comes in at +330. Union Saint-Gilloise also sit at -125 odds to cover the spread and haven’t lost a road match in this season’s Europa League.

USG’s Victor Boniface is the joint-leader in goal contributions in the competition. The Nigerian has registered five goals and two assists in eight appearances. Bettors looking for trends won’t find any in this fixture, in particular, as this is the first meeting in European competition between the two teams.

While Boniface has been a standout for USG, Moussa Diaby has been excellent in the Europa League for Leverkusen. The French international has scored four goals and provided an assist.

Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz is also a player to watch in the match. With both teams scoring bunches of goals lately, over 2.5 goals show -135 odds. Although Bayer Leverkusen’s frontline has been excellent, Patrik Schick is working his way back from injury. Adam Hlozek has also missed the last two matches with an illness and it’s unclear whether either will suit up on Thursday.
