Key Betting Matchups for MLS Week 7

After a dull week in MLS action, week seven should be a lot more fun. There are plenty of juicy matchups heading into MLS week 7. So instead of our standard three-match programming, we will give fans four matches! So here are the four key MLS week 7 matches every sports bettor should watch.

NYCFC (-120) vs. Atlanta United (+300) @ 4:30 pm PT

NYCFC has quietly been one of the teams to watch this MLS season. They started slow but are kicking it into gear now. On the other hand, Atlanta has been the best team in the East and looks like an MLS Cup contender. We’re not sure why the bookies have Atlanta as the underdog, but a full-strength Atlanta side at +300? That is highway robbery.

New York Red Bulls (-140) vs. San Jose Earthquakes (+375) @ 4:30 pm PT

We’re heading over the Hudson River as the NY Red Bulls host the San Jose Earthquakes. The Red Bulls have looked like a shell of their former selves over the last few seasons. Things have not been clicking for them anywhere on the pitch. On the other hand, San Jose started the season strong and looked like a playoff team at times. Our bet would be to go with San Jose at +375.

Chicago Fire (-120) vs. Minnesota United (+310) @ 5:30 pm PT

We honestly can’t explain the odds for this match. The Chicago Fire has been the worst team in MLS by a longshot, and Minnesota United is one of the strongest in the West. Something is not quite right here, but regardless, Minnesota United at +310 for the guaranteed win sounds like a solid bet to us.

Vancouver Whitecaps (-120) vs. Portland Timbers (+290) @ 7:30 pm PT

The first match of the Cascadia Cup! For those who don’t know, the Cascadia Cup is played by the Whitecaps, Timbers, and Sounders. All teams are residing in the Cascadia Region.

Anyway, both the Whitecaps and Timbers have been in rough form all season and will hope to kick start their seasons with a Cascadia Cup win. The Whitecaps just put five goals past Montreal, but the Timbers always have their number, regardless of where they are on the table. Stats say the Whitecaps will take this on, but history says the Timbers will come out with the result here. Our bet is on the Timbers at +290.
