Major Champion Tops LIV Invitational DC Preview

Golf, Here's a Cause in DC That We Can All Get Behind!

Brooks Koepka headlines our LIV Invitational DC preview this week, which features a stunning field.

LIV Golf odds have 2023 PGA Championship winner Koepka at +700, but hot on his heels is Cameron Smith, who is still waiting for his first LIV success.

In terms of the LIV golf tournaments so far, this could be one of the best we have seen.

Double Down for Koepka

Winning a week after winning the PGA Championship won’t be easy for Koepka, especially as he targets the big tournaments. However, he deserves to headline the LIV Invitational DC preview markets.

The five-time major winner has already won on the LIV Tour this year, so he’s one of the hottest golfers in the world, and would likely be in the top five in the world if he stayed on the PGA Tour.

“I can still do it, clearly,” Koepka said. “I’m healthy. I think I’m back to where I was during that good stretch (between 2017 and 2019). “I was right there in two majors this year, so hopefully I’m there with two more to go.”

We’re not sure if there’s much value in backing Koepka at +700, but he’s the best player in the field and he must be respected.

Smith Eyeing First Victory

After winning The Players and Open Championship in 2022, it appeared as though Smith wouldn’t take long to win on the LIV Tour.

However, the Australian hasn’t played his best, but there is confidence in betting markets, and he’s a top pick with our LIV Invitational DC preview.

He finished T9 at the PGA Championship, so he’s getting back to his best, and we just need to see a little more drive.

The 29-year-old left the PGA Tour as the second-best player in the world, so it’s only a matter of time before he lives up to those expectations with the rebel league.

Bettors get +800 for Smith to win, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see his firm into favoritism. He’s a trending golfer, and bettors want to see him break through for his first win.

Bryson Back in Form

It wouldn’t be a LIV Invitational DC preview without mentioning Bryson DeChambeau, who returned to form last week.

It’s good to see “The Professor” back to a smaller body type, and it’s already paying off. As much as we loved to see his incredible muscle transformation, it led to a lot of injuries, as we see countless times with golfers.

The ideal golf physique is lean with muscle, and trying to emulate Tiger Woods has got many golfers into trouble, including Woods himself. With DeChambeau looking more like a golfer, we’re prepared to bet on him for the LIV Washington event.

He finished T4 at Oak Hill, which was a terrific performance, and missing the fairways in the final round was the only thing stopping him from going closer.

He made a point about LIV golfers being tough to beat in the majors.

“I really hope people can see the light now that we’re trying to provide the game of golf with something new and fresh. I think at the end of the day, both sides are going to have to come together at some point. It’s for the good of the game,” DeChambeau said.

He’s a +2200 chance to win this week, which is an excellent price. He’s one of the star attractions of the tour, so we thought he would be around +1400 given his showing last week.
