Young Picked with John Deere Classic Odds

The Stars are Sitting This One Out

As shown with John Deere Classic odds, the best golfers in the world are taking the opportunity to have a week off.

However, despite Denny McCarthy being the favorite to win a PGA Tour tournament, there is good value with golf betting markets this week.

It could be the first Tour win for Cameron Young, who has been threatening to break through.

Now’s the Time for Young

The 26-year-old showed that he can compete on the world stage when posting excellent finishes at the majors, including a second-place finish at the 2022 Open Championship.

He also finished third at the 2022 PGA Championship and T7 at the 2023 Masters. However, he has yet to win a tournament on the PGA Tour, which could be playing on his mind.

His recent results haven’t been nearly as impressive, but it’s only a matter of time before Young scores his maiden win.

Despite finishing well at the Masters, he still struggled mentally, and that could provide an insight into his recent struggles.

“I think physically that’s a really difficult part. Mentally it’s obviously hard just because you’re generally not having the most fun out there,” Young said.

“You can’t afford to make doubles. Bogeys can be okay. You kind of just have to be thankful when you have a putt for birdie because it’s going to play really long and no one’s going to be very comfortable out there.”

Despite not being at the top of him game, John Deere Classic odds are in his favor. He’s a +1800 chance to win the one of the easiest golf tournaments, so bettors should jump on the opportunity.

McCarthy Best-Backed

McCarthy finds himself at the top of betting markets following a good showing for T7 at the Travelers Championship.

The American has yet to win on the PGA Tour as well, but he lost the Memorial to Viktor Hovland in a playoff, so that was an encouraging performance.

We can’t quite justify his odds firming from +1800 to +1400, but the John Deere Classic odds are still worth entertaining.

There is an excellent market confidence for the 30-year-old, who also finished a respectable +T20 at the U.S. Open at LA Country Club, so his recent performances are leading towards his first win.

Winning your first tournament is never easy, but McCarthy is trending in the right direction, and we’re jumping on.

All Eyes on Aberg

The hype machine is working for Ludvig Aberg, who is being hailed as a potential rising star in the golfing world.

He hasn’t been missed in John Deere Classic odds either. The 23-year-old Swedish player is a +2500 chance to win this week, despite never really contending for a title.

He comes off a T40 finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which followed a T24 at the Travelers and a T25 at the Canadian Open.

We don’t know if Aberg is quite good enough to win on the Tour just yet, but he’s a -165 favorite to be top Scandinavian.

We’re happy to take those odds because he doesn’t have a tough Scandinavian field to beat.
