Clippers Shoot for Fourth Win in a Row in Sacramento

Clippers vs Kings Betting Odds, Props and More

In this Clippers vs Kings betting odds preview, we will look at NBA odds, NBA scores today, and the matchup history between these two teams to see where we can find some value bets.

This Tuesday night matchup will be a good one. The Los Angeles Clippers have won three in a row and five of their last seven games. They travel up the I5 Highway for a conference battle with the Sacramento Kings, who are fighting to stay out of the Play-In Tournament.

The Clippers are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference and are likely staying put. The Kings, who are the seventh seed (tied in losses with the eighth-seed Phoenix Suns) will need every win they can get to catch the Pelicans in the sixth seed. This will be a tough feat for the Kings who recently lost the Sixth Man of the Year frontrunner, Malik Monk, and sharpshooter Kevin Huerter.

As with many games towards the end of the season, not only does this one have major seeding implications, but these teams could easily face off on the same side of the NBA playoff bracket come May.

Kings Limping Into Playoffs

The injury bug has hit the Sacramento Kings at the worst time. They are missing almost 50 minutes per game of floor time from guards Monk and Huerter, and their star guard De’Aaron Fox’s scoring has decreased over the last handful of games.

Third-year guard Davion Mitchell, known more for his defensive prowess than his scoring, may need to step up in the meantime. Mitchell, who is only averaging 4.7 points per game this season, has exceeded that scoring number in six of his last seven games. In his last five games, Mitchell has averaged 7.8 points. He hit the over on his points prop in five of his last seven games. Look at the over on Mitchell’s points as a possible value bet in this matchup.

De’Aaron Fox on the other hand has seen his scoring dip lately, likely due to the added defensive attention from the Kings’ guard injuries. Fox has averaged only 22.8 points in his last ten games, down from his 26.4 points per game average on the season. The Clippers do give up the fifth most points to point guards, so there is a possibility for a return to scoring form for Fox.

Clippers In a Groove?

After a couple of back-to-back losses (with easy wins against Portland in between), the Clippers have responded to head coach Ty Lue’s “soft” comments and have strung three wins in a row. The team is just 6-4 in its last ten games, only one of those wins being against above .500 teams. After a dominant winter and a lackluster fall, the Clippers would like to get a statement win against Western Conference foes on Tuesday.

Star forward Paul George had a huge game in the Clipper’s last win. He dropped 41 points on only 21 shots going 8-12 from three-point range while the Clippers handedly beat the Hornets on Sunday. George has been on a heater recently, averaging 25.7 points per game over his last ten games (he is averaging only 22.6 on the season).

George has hit his over in nine of his last eleven games, and we think Tuesday could be another over opportunity. The Kings are bottom five in the league guarding forwards, giving up the fourth most points per game to power forwards and eighth most to small forwards. Look at Georges’ points as a possible over bet Tuesday.

Kings Lacking Options

Clippers vs Kings betting odds opened with the Kings +2, total at 222.5. The Kings being dogs at home is a tempting bet, but the Clippers at full health will have more firepower. The Clippers have bested the Kings in two of their three meetings this season, covering both wins.

As underdogs, the Kings are 12-12 this season and the Clippers are 44-16 as favorites. The Kings are 5–5 against the spread (ATS) in their last ten games and the Clippers are 3-7. This one could go either way so it may be safer to stick with player props.
