How Will The Knicks Respond After Loss To New Orleans?

The Warriors vs Knicks Preview Has A Best Bet Below!

The New York Knicks will look to get back to their winning ways with a home game against the Golden State Warriors.

The Knicks have dealt with many NBA injuries lately. In the most recent game against the Pelicans, New York played without Jalen Brunson, Isaiah Hartenstein, OG Anunoby, and Julius Randle. Brunson and Hartenstein have minor injuries and will likely return to the court for this one.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Meanwhile, Anunoby, Randle, and Mitchell Robinson have longer timetables but could return eventually this season.

On the other hand, the Warriors have had a weak season, going just 30-27 this year. However, the Warriors are still fighting for a playoff spot and could do serious damage once they make the playoffs. The franchise has multiple NBA championships, with Stephen Curry leading the way. Therefore, the Warriors are still a dangerous group.

With Brunson likely back in the lineup, the Knicks are currently +4 against the spread, with the total sitting at 223.

Here’s a look at our Warriors vs Knicks preview for this early TNT matchup at Madison Square Garden.

Warriors vs Knicks Preview & Trends

The Warriors and Knicks have helped their bettors be profitable this season. The Warriors have gone 30-25-2 against the spread, while the Knicks have gone 30-27-2 against the spread this season. Those are both winning records by multiple games.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have hit the Over in three more games than the Under this NBA season. However, the Knicks have notched the Under in 36 of 59 games this season.

The Knicks are 20-10 at home, and the Warriors are just 14-11 on the road. This will be the first of two meetings between the Knicks and Warriors this season.

The Knicks won the latest matchup in 2022, 132-94, as 6.5-point favorites, but the Warriors have gone 6-4 over the last ten.

Chris Paul’s Return

After 21 games out of the lineup, Chris Paul returned for the Warriors in their matchup against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

The Warriors went 12-9 without Paul in the lineup in those 21 NBA games. However, his hand injury from Jan. 5 is finally healed.

Against the Wizards, Paul added nine points, four rebounds, six assists, and four steals in 22 minutes.

Head coach Steve Kerr’s current plan is to play Paul when Steph Curry isn’t playing. Therefore, Paul and Klay Thompson will be the backcourt for the Warriors off the bench moving forward.

OG Anunoby’s Update

OG Anunoby has missed nearly 15 games due to an elbow injury. He was a big difference-maker When he came over from the Raptors to the Knicks. Anunoby wasn’t always an effective scorer for the Knicks, but his defensive ability, paired with his solid shot-making, rebounding, and IQ, had been terrific for the Knicks.

He had elbow surgery about three weeks ago and has been out for a whole month. However, his timetable looks to be another two to three weeks, and then he can return to the floor.

The Knicks have a lot of depth, and some of their bench pieces have stepped up quickly. But adding a player like Anunoby back into the lineup will certainly help.

The Knicks Need The Momentum

There’s nothing like Madison Square Garden when the NBA team welcomes a star player. It’s ultimately the LeBron James effect. This time, it’s for Steph Curry.

The place should be buzzing. The Knicks get to host Curry and the Warriors only once per year. Plus, this game will be on TNT in a primetime spot.

New York will be prepared despite their poor performances to begin the week.

The Knicks have scored 119.2 points per 100 possessions and have earned 32.4% of offensive rebounds. That’s the top offensive-rebounding rate in the NBA. But beyond that, the Knicks should see the foul line a lot. The Warriors have allowed a 21.3 free throw rate and aren’t very good at forcing turnovers on defense.

If anything, the Warriors will force some tough shots. But as long as Hartenstein is on the floor with Precious Achiuwa and Josh Hart, the Knicks should be so dominant on the glass that they earn second chances off those tricky shots.

On the other hand, it’s unknown if Andrew Wiggins will play for the Warriors in this one. He missed Tuesday’s game due to personal reasons. Wiggins may remain away from the team with the Warriors still on the road. Make sure to keep an eye out for any updates regarding Wiggins.

That said, the Warriors are still an above-average offense, scoring 118.5 points per 100 possessions. However, the Warriors are only really good at adding offensive rebounds. With New York allowing only 24.6% of offensive rebounds, the Warriors might see fewer offensive rebounds in this game.

New York has also held teams to an 18 free throw rate. The Knicks should see the foul line more, earn more offensive rebounds, and already score more points per 100 possessions than the Warriors.

The Knicks want to stay in the top six of the NBA Playoff Standings in the Eastern Conference. New York doesn’t have three-point NBA stat leaders like the Warriors, but New York’s Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo have each been money from downtown throughout the season.

After scrolling through the Warriors vs Knicks preview, our NBA picks include the Knicks at +4 (-110) at home.
